Ivan, good to hear you are confirmed. Here is a link that shows the Siena Suites Hotel, which is right next to the park where the track is located. Just to the east of the hotel is the park (green area on the map) and if you zoom in you will see the track just south of the green area, right in the middle.

OK, so no big announcement, but the race is shaping up to be a good one with or without Collari.

I'm sorry Garen, When you posted it, it was probably just past midnight I think, but I was already a few hours into the day, so already had some jokes came my way....

It looked promising, but the Vox line of engine was just a bit to much...

But, blame "stefanmotonica", because he sent me a sms, with the message he got the news from RCtech....

Talking SLASH???

Well, I wasn't aware that MY style of driving an "on road" car had a name ? Hmmm.... Didn't know that I was supposed to have a SPECIAL car for it either, seems I do just fine with my 1/10th Mugen. (Although I haven't made 30 feet, YET!!)

Just a reminder, the entry fee deadline of April 10th is fast approaching. Get your entries in to avoid paying the fee and to help expedite things at the track, especially the scheduling of the Saturday post-qualifying events.

Garen, do you know if anyone will will have DM1 parts available? I may be interested in picking up a DM1 to run there but I'd hate to do so without parts support... Just curious.

Also, I take it the decision has been made to go rubber in the GT class right?

One or two other questions for you Garen as I know you've run the DM1 before...

What was your experience with the 2-speed unit? It looks very, very nice to me since it's clutch style. That should make for a predictable/stable shift point that can be adjusted lower or higher as needed. Was that your experience?

Were there any gotchas with the DM1 - anything you'd recommend replacing such as springs, etc?

2 speed is fine; it's a replica of the old Serpent 2 speed. I'll try to remember to bring my old Serpent 2 speed tools (wrench and spur gear holder) in case you need it. It works as good as any other 2 shoe 2 speed.

The only weak spot I found on the DM1S is the front/front lower arm mount, make sure you bring a couple with you. As for replacing parts and setup tips, you are asking the wrong guy as I modified my car pretty much from the beginning. I am sure the car works well with the stock springs and parts, especially when using rubber tires. I got rid of the pushrod suspension, as did a few others; it just simplifies things. I also mounted the shocks in a similar way as my old IGT.

I know Rich T has a DM1S so he might be stocking parts as well.

Come see me at the track and I'll help you get it setup as best as I can.
