Default HPI R40 or RDLogics Mongoose

I know both of these cars listed are considered old technology in comparison with the latest and greatest. So let me talk about what my intentions are and hopefully you guys could give me some suggestions as to what I should go with.

I'm not trying to go out and win any competitive races or anything. Just wanted to buy a decent chassis with high adjustability for practicing on a track and honing my driving/tuning skills. The main reason for these choices is mainly for the low price and relatively good platform. I can find both of these for 180 to roughly 200 or so (with the Mongoose being available in the low end of the range). They both offer extremely low CG, highly adjustable and both designs look very solid in general.

So are there any particular issues with each car that I should be aware of? Also, I own a Serpent Impulse, how does each of these cars compare to the impulse in terms of quality of material and durability?

Rather than the mongoose, I'd look at the Team Magic G4 JR/ G4 JS series - much more up to date, similarly if not cheaper priced and a lot less coin to upgrade ( if you decide you want to at a later date)

R40 is a great car, but not made anymore

where can I find the G4JR/JS for the cheapest? What are the differences between the two and compared to the Mongoose?

So between the R40 Hara Edition and the G4JS, which would you think is a better car?
