With that budget get a team magic g4js. Fully upgradable. I am more of a xray and mugen guy myself but with that budget the G4js is probably the best car kit for you.

heres a link to the g4js
http://www.wolfhobbies.com/1_10_Gas_...assembled.html

There is also the g4jr it is the rtr version of this for 309.99.

Like i said i like the mugen and xray cars so i would say wait till you get enough cash and get that but with the budget you stated these would be my choices.

Thr only downfall to these cars is that i belive only wolf hobbies sells parts for them, so you are going to want to stock up on parts if you go this route.

Are you looking to race on a track or bash in the street?
Do you want an RTR or a kit car.
Either way I saw from another member that A Main hobbies has the Ofna GPX4 RTR on sale for $159. It has alot of options and great for a newbee.

Then get the GPX4 and use the extra $140 to upgrade to DSM radio and a stronger motor (there are some great deals on used radios and motor in the classified section).

Default BEST BET

for the price range your looking for the traxxas 4-tec. Its your best bet. Its RTR, parts are cheap, upgrades everywhere, and fun to drive. You can upgrade to foams tires and better accelartion and top end. Then if you really want to race all around you can upgrade the motor to a O.S. 21 TM and but on 1/8 scale foams by using Wolfpack radical adapters. And your good to go.

If you going to race later on the 4tec is not the car for you! Ill go with the G4JS RTR is a good car belive me i have one and i race with it against mugens serpents and they have to keep up with me but i dont have the stock engine i have a o.s.12 tz but you will do good with the stock motor for now.

It will be a battle between the 4-tech and the G4JS.
