5 amps for a 5-6 cell battery. I have two of these and it does a decent job for nitro racing. Electric racing it falls way short. It also discharges up to 4 amps one channel only. I like the dual channel ability. The total charge current is different base on how many cells you are charging. When charging 8 AA NIMH the max charge current is only 2.5 amps. The only gripe I have is that it is a linear charger. This charger struggles to charge my 3s lipo when I use a 12.5 vdc input power supply. The supplied power supply runs a 13.5 volts at 10 amps it will charge a 3s pack with no problem, but nothing over a 3s

I have a Hyperion 610i Duo and love it. It will charge anything I have with ease. I had an MRC 989 but I like the Hyperion much better. They've released software so you can hook it to a USB port on your PC to monitor and log everything. I have no complaints so far and it was worth every penny.
