GT4-R Terror: Mugen is bringing in the current JP Black Modified
.12 engines. Ace Hardware Hobbies and Speedtechrc.com are
two retailers that are carrying this motor... Now for the good
news....the motor is basically stock. By this I mean that for $220-240 you will get an engine that runs like an MT-12...the timing
on the crankshaft intake, transfer ports and exhaust ports are
stock MT-12/RB12 numbers...compression and squish dimensions
are stock also....the only differences are that JP does modify the
intake bowl but leaves the venturi intake at 5.40 mm (stock),
cut the end of the crankshaft with a single turbo flute so that
the engine is ROAR illegal....and then JP does cut some flow
directors into the bottom of the sleeve so that flow is improved
into the two transfer ports that are totally stock...
So that is my two cents worth...on the other hand, there is
no doubt that based on the reputation of JP (2 consecutive
World Championships in 1/8 Onroad...) that if you can obtain
delivery of the .12 JP Black engines....you will probably sell all
that you can take delivery of!...go figure....

Not to put words in your mouth, but it sounds like another way of saying JPs are.... well....weak. when compared with other mod motors on the markets anyways.

JONATHAN - WEAK but they do have that way cool looking black case (which justifies them in charging a higher price )

Jonathan: Well, ok...this particular JP Black .12 engine was.
The part number for this particular .12 JP engine is JPMT-12SG/S.
Hope to see both you and Adelmundo at Antioch this weekend.

Adelmundo: Keep this up and I am going to have to teach
you everything that I know about .12 engines......maybe.
BTW, new car almost finished....uses a modified version of
Richey RTO specs (still 3 port and standard glow plug...i.e.
RCCAR legal) with revised suspension and relocated weight
distribution....have not run it yet so I won't know if it works
better than 2001 Mugen Lola until I test at Antioch next week....
Touch base with me this weekend at Antioch (if weather
permits) and we will talk engines, that is, if you buy me lunch at
Lupe's Cafe (double burger, chips and Pepsi).....

Got_speed: tell me about it...if my cars were proportionally faster
as the weight I have gained from eating at Lupe's Cafe...my
.12 Mugen Lola would be doing 100mph on the straights...
