Default Consequences of buying a Veteq

I race a MTX-3 but I've been thinking about running a 1/8 scale at my local track for fun, not to race. I really like the Veteq chassis but it's discontinued. Am I opening a whole can of worms by buying one or will parts and support be available still? I kinda want to get something different than the MRX-3 since I already have the scaled down version. 950 is buku bucks. I've seen a NIB Veteq for $350. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Post Veteq??? Are you kidding?

FYI: From Veteq cars, try to find a Vector NT better than a Veteq or go with a full MRX3 (Ok. Is almost the same as your MTX3 but is quite different to make you happy).

On mine local track Veteq disappeared misteriously and now seems to be full of Vector NT's and 950's (and of cuz, the raging gang of the MRX3 who spank without mercy the snake cars. )

Rambo......Don't do it.....

Seriously, you'll still get parts for the car(I have one).....The main problem with the car is it was (and is) harder to work on.....Not good when you're between heats trying to fix it...

Also,to this day,I still don't think anyone at Serpent(including Michael Salven) knows to the full extent how that suspension works, and all the proper ways to run and tune it..

And now that its discontinued, there will be no more research done on the car...

The team members all hated the car.....

And since the new 950R has redesigned front suspension(even different from the 950) you won''t even see anyone use the front shock laydown option anymore...

either get the 950 R,or the new Mugen..whichever car is supported by your track...AND fellow racers..

1'8th scale(and its expense) is no place to be different.....

Default veteq

I guess you guys are right. Even if I'm not going to go racing, there's nothing worse than not being able to replace the arms or whatever else I'm sure to break.

Not true, Slaven used the laydown front shocks last year at the winternats.

Perhaps you can find some good deals on ebay for 8th scales, or the FS area here.

yeah it's nice to have all aluminum parts in your car...when you crash it...you wouldn't know if it's all tweaked out. Running a tweaked car is also a challenge

Ever thought about a 1/8 buggy? Tons of those around. I bought a OFNA Hyper7 PBS just for the fun of it. Don't race it but it's a blast playing in the yard or any dirt pile you can find

I went from VETEQ, SMP, and now to MRX.

VETEQ is hard to set right(get the 950R if you want Serpent)
SMP, lack of support where I race.
MRX3, easy everything.

VETEQ is a nice car to look.
