I believe you have to qualify in the top 15 at nationals to get invited as part of the us team.

Sorry for my ignorance, but which Nationals?

Roniel_R 11-14-2008 08:29 AM

each country recieves 30 or 40 spots so you had to place top 30 or 40 in the Nats the year before meaning the ones that just past,or get on a waiting list with Roar.

All you have to do is e-mail the ROAR administrator Rick Howart and send him a resume, (a brief of how long you have been racing ) and your desire to be an alternate. He will put you on the list. Then he allows the Quallified people (ones who did well at the Nats and whatever) to either commit to go or forfit thier spot. There are always MANY spots open. He will notify tou that you have been chosen to go as an alternate and let you know the details ie: sending in your entry fee, shirt size for USA team shirts etc. If you want to go, I'm sure you can. I plan to go. I did this for the Worlds here in Cincinnatti and had no problem. You can get Ricks e-mail from the ROAR website. Hope this helps.

...and start saving money for BIIIIIG engines.

On this track a 8th scale looks like a 18th scale car and the engine winds out about half way down the straight.

Also. have you eyesight checked, because the car is gonna be tiny on the far end of the track:lol::sneaky:

Seriously, this track is huge.

20 secs laptimes and a 8 secs full throttle straight end.

A 3-speed gearbox could have an advantage with only using the 3rd gear on the straight.

Too bad we couldn't get ahold of an old BMT 3 speed!:tire:

Had the impression that the rules eliminated three speeds a few years ago - is this just a misconception on my part??

Roelof 11-14-2008 02:19 PM

So far I know is only the 1/10 limited to 2-speed.

But with 2 speeds due the track layout I think it is difficult to find the right gearing and shifting point.

3 speed trannies were banned long time ago in 1/8.
