In todays world, a company would be stupid not to move manufacturing to an off-shore location such as China as they would cut there costs significantly, invest more into the quality of the materials used and become more competitve in the market place.

I dont have the facts but Im sure that the majority of RC car makers have moved most if not all of there manufacturing to china.

Yes, China is moving to become the worlds Manufacturer. There's no way any company in the rc market can be competitive without going thru China.

Are you kidding?
90% of what you guys buy at Wal Mart is made in China and probably more than 50 % of what America consums is too.

If they stopped supplying you, most of you would go naked and hungry.

That is why I never shop at Walmart either. If you want to make cheap shit and compete with other people that make cheap shit then make it in China. Tell that to NovaRossi.

You know if the government closed up the US border for manufacturing that would boost jobs, income and ect.... We don't have a bank problem, we have a manufacturing problem. Yes it may be cheaper to manufacture in China, but the products quality is not as good as USA or even Japan. So you can buy 4 front "A" arms for the price of one good US one.

But does it make any difference in quality either made in Europe or made in China?
All parts still have to make under Serpent QC.
The labour is a lot cheaper in China vs Europe and that where Serpent will save their $$$.
Other reason Serpent will have less headache now that they can outsource logistic and factory.
I believe R&D department is remain the same.

I have no problem with the fatcats making millions. What I have a problem with is with making millions by going to Mexico for cheap labor at the expense of an American Job. And tring to sell the same product back in the US. "ie Hershey's chocolate" Sorry off subject

Yes it is an unfortunate fact of reality. Unless the free market consumers choose to spend more for products made in the USA nothing will change. Be sure to understand, this is not the companies fault. They are forced to move manufacturing to stay competitive OR they will fail.

I do belive that high end motors and some high end electronics can benefit from being produced by more expense but higher quality labor producing countries. But as for simple molded plastic, or cast aluminum (the majority of the kits) which are made by the thousands through complete autonomous means, the cheaper the manufacturing the better.

It is a result of our free market enterprise. As the saying goes, "don't hate the player, hate the game"

I guess some of you would rather buy a Made In The USA Mugen? or Kyosho? or Motonica?. No, No, I know!! Lets buy a Made In The USA Team Associated, yeah, those Thunder Tiger kits are sure made in the USA!!

The truth is that we will never know which manufacturers make their kits where, some companies will tell us, but a lot of them wont. I dont think that quality will go down. The plastic used in the molding machines comes from allover the world, weather your manufacturing facility is in the USA or China, or Taiwan, or anywhere. Heck, if Kyosho or Mugen kits are made in Asia, I dont see why Serpent doing the same will mean lower quality.
