All of the 1/8th scale cars on the market are better than ever! It really comes down to witch one you pefer, Not many shops carry these cars, which means more than likely you will get it off the net. Check out Kamikazie hobbies, they are really good, and they have pretty much everything for onroad racing, Talk to Nigel or Sam they will shoot you straight on what ever you choose. I perfer the Serpent 960'08 over the cars ive drivin, i havent drove them all, but i have never been in a place where i thought i was missing something with the Serpent, Their is a lot of Rumors floating around about Serpent but ever thing is fine Kamikazie has parts in stock, and their are more shops too, i carry Serpent at my shop as well, but Kamikazie handles net sales better than i do. Hope this helps! Also you can check out Serpent.com And you can see all the races they have attended and results, i do believe most of the companys have this on their web sites as well. Good luck and have fun, which is the most important thing of all!

Why does this whole post look like a Serpent add? Hmm, could it be the user names of the first two posters perhaps?

Nice try.

For me, Mugen all around but if money is no object maybe a Shepherd.

Excuse me, what did I say that wasn't constructive? I see nothing constructive in your comment.

There is no best car in 1/8 onroad. The 4 main cars are pretty much equal.
It comes down to chassis tuning ability, and driveing.

i just purchased an m3, i was thinkin out of these 3, motonica, m3, and mtx4r.

i would've taken the mugen, its very durable and is planted out of the box with its basic setup.

what made me purchase the m3 over my other choices was because its the newest car, i didnt wanna purchase a mugen and after 2months of having it they suddenly release a new car, so that's one of the reason i got the m3 over mtx4r.

if money wasn't a thing, i would've purchased the motonica.

it really comes down to what parts you local hobby shop mainly carries and what car everyones running at your local track.

Normally people refer "TOURER" as a 1/10 scale sedan car.

You can have the best car you want but if the support is crap then with one problem your car is the slowest of them all waiting for parts.

All cars are good, but it is on to you if you can manage to setup the car to your drivestyle or can adapt to it.

My choice is Mugen. The car builds up right from the box without any knives and grinding tools and is very competive with the setup out of the box. Best of all, the parts are cheap and easy to get. Maintenance is easy to the car, it is easy to unmount the parts and you do not need any tricks.

Looking at Serpent 960 (which is a good car to drive with), it is crazy to have several filling rings to make it all fit. And the gearbox with the pin.... I am still wondering why they did not change it. I am a old fasion guy and keep the motormount to the engine, with Serpent that is impossible to do, with some mounts you even need to remove the rear end to fit them.

All I know is that with the Serpent you wont be disappointed, the car goes together perfectly out of the box, without any hand fitting. If you have any questions you can post on the Serpent 960 thread, and either Nigel(nigelnugets) DJ or Paolo will help you. You can also go to the Serpent website and theres plenty of help there, setups, how-to tips, a lot of info.

Hey Jman 37,

I agree with KreamUNO, which is depends on what you can find in your local hobby store.
Like everyone say, all the manufactures are pretty much the same, they all have win big races around the world with different drivers, but bottom line is you need support. If you cannot find the parts you need, once you damage your car, the car will be useless to you.
So bottom line is make sure you can find support of the car you want, than you will be ok.

Good luck

I would just like to point out what should be apparent for the slow. Your the 3rd post, therefor the 2nd post is what we like to call in this forum setup as a reply to the thread starter. So to you the 3rd person to post, the 2nd persons opinion is by default going to be for well..........whatever car is his choice. So now we have had posting 101. As far as the level of constructivness of nitro hos post is that he pointed out once again a great point you might want to be more articulate with your post instead of "ME OGER ME LIKE MUGEN" I think he might want to know why "OGER LIKE MUGEN". I just hope in your other 1000 plus post you were a little more than a waste of bandwidth. Just a side note I wouldnt reply you have been estroyed save face.

But on topic they are all on a pretty level playing ground, so I have read.
