Non Kyosho, Mugen Seiki or Serpent Car Suggestion

Just thinking of getting a new car and don't want any of the main cars listed as I want something unqiue at my local track, which of the following people recommend?
I don't care about availability of parts as I race a MTX-3, just want a car to stir things up at the track.

- Hong Nor - LD3 Pro Version
- Team Magic G4
- HPI - Nitro Touring Car R40 Racer Kit

Thanks

Sami

hey sami...I own an Impulse,2 tc3's and the new r40...

I've also driven the OFNA,which wasn't bad.....

I would tell you to stick with another belt car....teh shaft drive cars take a slightly different driving style....

I haven't driven the g4,but the r40(and check the thread out),drives real well....

NOTHING like the racer2's........real stable, and seems to be taking a beating under my hands..

of course, parts availablity should also guide your decision..

ttektek I think you really should reconsider. Just stick with the MTX3, such a lovely car to drive. I have seen most of the cars in action and many buyers wil drop them. Most I know who play with the 705 and MTX3 will stick with it. In Malaysia TC3 drivers are moving away from it to Mugens. Some of the better drivers bought the G4 and R40 ... they have not stuck with it.

LD4 - nonsense of a car as it is like the TC3 in design but with some "better" design. It is fragile.

G4 - is so so only compared with a Mugen, it can use Mugen spur and pinions if I am not mistaken

R40 - not much different from the G4

For me in 1/10 touring MTX3 will be the best for me. Because so many optional parts. But for 8 scale I like SMP slide because all parts is aluminum alloy already

suntok2, the Slide is a nice car no doubt. But going by your choice of engine which will be the Sirio because it won the worlds, why not take the Kyosho Fantom then? I'm curious with your choice because the SMP Slide was did not make it's presence felt in the worlds...

I know it's not on your list but the Schumacher R12 has proved to be very popular and fast in the UK this year. Twin belt transmission and very free running, hasn't got the ultimate durability of the Serpent or Mugen but still pretty reliable.

Hope this helps

I already both many RC car but they change design in a short term of time and almost all 1/8 car look the same. In SMP slide the design still unbelievable and when I run the car WoW better than any car. SMP slide does not believe redesign the whole car will make car run better they modify only the weakness part like the rear stabilizer before its very dificult to adjust but know its to easy to adjust.
