Default HPI RS4

I just recently bought an HPI RS4 with the Star .12 engine and am in the process of breaking it in. What is the optimum operating temp for an engine? This may sound simple or stupid but I'm sort of new to nitro. Also, to what point should I adjust the lean/rich-ness of my engine? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, thats a rolling museum piece you got there. Hard to find those brand new these days. Try keeping the engine under 240 degrees. Make sure that you see a trail of smoke when you accelerate. The HPI web site has some really good information about tuning and care for nitro motors.
