Default Kyosho V ONE RRR question

I have the v1rrr w/ a one way in the front. I raced for the 1st time & had the shaft in the end of the one way come out twice. I'm sure it was do to hitting the tire on the pipe, but would like to keep this from happening since it didn't seem to break anything in the process. Can I just reduce thetrack width on the front to reduce this ?
Thanks for help

It seems like you have dogbones and not cvd's if you are having this problem.

One problem could be that your dogbones are too short, those of us running the front spools use a longer silver cvd that I can't remember the part # off the top of my head.

If you have the right dogbones, they still move around quite a bit, stick o-rings in the drive cup to basically take up space between the dogbone and the drive cup to push it in farther.

You should be running no more than 200mm front track width, and I personally run 198 on most tracks for additional steering.

Thanks - I am running cvd & its setting in the drive cup about 1/3 of the way. Somehow when i catch the pipe in the turn its popping the end of the cvd out of the drive cup & then the drive cup falls out of the one way.

Your track width should be 199 in the front double check that the plastic shim is not missing on the drive cup. Zurk it would be more useful to post your ?? on the actually Kyosho thread for quicker replys

Not hitting the wall is helpful, nice.

You may have the wrong CVD's if you are under 200mm, they have black ones and silver ones, you need the silver ones because they are longer. VZW219, not VSW007. Plus make sure you have an o-ring in there, it helps push the cup back in with the oneway

Yes I have the black ones w/ silver cups. The car is new & it was my 1st time driving/racing on road. So as far as not hitting anything & trying to be somewhat competetive my 1st time out is asking alot from me. Thanks to everyone for the input. Special thanks goes to G Martinez for all his help getting the car set up.

ok those are the 45mm ones, the silver ones above are 47mm, that alone fixes your problem for $50 bones unfortunately. I think the 45mm ones were for the diffs, all the oneways and spools have to use the 47mm's as far as I know unless you want to run a super narrow track width like 196-197 but I wouldn't recommend that if you can get the 47mm cvd's

3 years and availability? there have been a LOT of RRR's released, 5 or more total cars with evo's and wc editions. Way too much to cover here. Check out the http://www.kyosho.com site under support, instruction manuals they have a parts list of all the old cars if you really want to know but the EVO WC and EVO 2 are the cars to have now.

You might want to look into the EVO WC upgrade kit, I believe it sells for something around $250 and it upgrades you from pretty far back.

I bought the car brand new it is the WC version. Came with custom body (2) Jr 8800 servos (new) & a new Lamberto Collari .12 3 port all for $275.00. Its my car to learn to run onroad & have a little fun. In going to the Kyosho site I didn't find the 219 shafts listed as an optional part for this car, but I am planning on purchasing. I hope they fit.
