The houston reps are going to be at the Farm II 8th offroad worlds to finalize their proposal. I don't believe anybody is running against them so it should be a done deal since 301 is going for 2011 8th scale worlds and every other track capable has run one recently that I know of that could support the event (facility, hotels and such)

IFMAR basically lets the host country have 10 automatically. Then IFMAR gets 12, then each of the ROAR/EFRA type organizations get 32. Anything not filled by those organizations automatically by nationals finish can apply to their own (maybe another regions too) sanctioning body for a spot in the case that say only 5 guys from FEMCA show up. The race will be run with 150 drivers total (unless they can't fill that, which I doubt)

I believe I even read somewhere in the IFMAR rules that it must be in July, lets hope I am wrong on this one because I live in houston and you don't want to be here in July.

I dont think it has been finalized but after having run the 1/8th nats at 301 I would love to go there again.

At this point the track is not good. I spoke to one of the guys from that track and he said they are ripping the track out early next year and replacing the asphalt and with another new layout whch is the same length but wider. They have removed the trees from behind which caused some extreme shadows. I like the people from that track and think they do have a good facility. With some work they could have a great track also. I have no doubt. I am glad the 2010 and the 2011 worlds are here in the USA. But lostallo will be fun.......
Lostallo is one of the best tracks here in Europe, we have the best straight away and will be a real test for engine manufacturers, can't wait it is my hometrack.

Good point, since the worlds are here so infrequently and 200mm has only been a class for so long not many have had the chance to get an event especially if they've hosted other worlds before. They may have a shot though, did you ask them if they're bidding yet?

While digging around for past results I found an article from Mike Queller who has his hands in pretty deep with ROAR (and Mike's in houston) something about worlds in Vegas all the way back around 99 which would have been 8th scale but I can't find an actual listing of what tracks have had ifmar worlds and can only remember Ohio in 2002 so I could be wrong here.
