Number one most important thing when building a kit is Patience.

After that a good set of hex wrenches, nut drivers, screw drivers a sharp hobby knife and a pair of small side cutters for removing small parts from part trees.
That pretty much covers the basics there are a long list of optional tools that although they are helpful really aren't necessary Like a set of small files, fine grit sandpaper, dremel as well as many more.

There may be some specialty tools your kit requires. What are you getting?

For instance, if your kit has any snap rings in it, a pair of snap ring pliers is a MUST. If not, you may never need them as most manufacturers seem to be going away from them.

I would say if this is your first kit, extra time, patience and a good attention to detail is worth any extra tools you can ever purchase(a good set of wrenches never hurts though)!!

Go to Kamikaze bro and pick up a Tool Bag Kit from Sam. He can also get you set up on the proper tools. Go to his site and check em out REAL NICE set and worth EVERY penny.

But your gonna have to wait until he gets back into town (2 weeks).

What kid are you going with btw?
