Default CENTAX CLUTCH

I am running a Serpent Vector. To me it is the chevy nova of rc. I am noticing that the car seems to be running in second gear as opposed to first then second because it has a nice high end but the take off is slow. Is there an adjustment that I should make to the Centax Clutch to kick the gears in in the proper order.

Also, are there any really good tools that you champs could recommend so that I can really tune this classic baby up and school you guys with the new model cars on the race track.

When you accelerate does the engine rev up high as it slowly accelerates? If the answer is yes then your problem is the centax clutch. If the answer is no then you need to adjust your 2 speed. If you go to http://www.serpent.com/product/903008/downloads/
you can down load the 960 instruction manual that shows the 2 speed clutch and explains how to adjust it. Basically it states "ADJUSTING THE 2-SPEED SHOE GAP
Loosed the two gap-setting set screws to allow the shoes to rest on the drive
adaptor.
Install the 2-speed shoes in the 2nd gear drum, but do NOT install the 1st gear.
There should be equal but minimal spacing between the 2-speed shoes and the 2nd
gear drum. Tighten BOTH gap setting set screws until the shoes touch the inside
surface of the aluminum 2nd gear drum, then loosen BOTH set screws by 1/2 turn
each. The 2nd gear should spin freely. "

thanks so much for the reply, I am adjusting it this morning and then, hopefully if it stops raining, I am going to to some test runs.

Also thanks for the offer on the extra parts, I may be interested, it depends on what parts they are, since the season is nearly over here in CT I wasn't really planning on purchasing anything else, but you never know.

I am especially looking for that Centax clutch adjustment wrench.
