Default Beginner help here please

Hey everyone I have bought Barney's Racing rs4 2 lot and I would like to ask some questions in this thread to get a better idea of this car.

New to the Older HPI's

I am a parking lot basher and am thinking of upgrading the most often broken parts on the car.

Which parts on the car would you say break the most? Those will be the ones I upgrade to aluminum if I can find them

I would say all suspension parts, arms(lower/upper), shocks, caster blocks/steering hubs etc.

There probably wont be an alluminium up grade for spur gears but a few spares in this department should get you out of trouble when/if you strip gears.

Maybe bring a set of spare tyres aswell as a set of dogbones. I have broken cvd's and lost dogbones but my spare ones got me back on the track.

Also depending on what type of clutch you use maybe you could get some alloy clutch shoes (for a 3-shoe clutch) or some harder (material) throw weights if you have a centax clutch.

I hope this helps you. I would probably worry more about the suspension parts more than any if it's alloy you want but all the other tips are very handy to have in your pit bag as they are all the parts that i would usually have problems with if i have an bad crash

Speed....Older rs4's were bulletproof for parking lot racing, other then the occoasional rock in the rear belt.....

I would not upgrade anything.....I would drive the car, and depending on how it drives, setb the car up.....Rs4's work great on rubber tires and parking lot surfaces...The new rage is the vintage body set up's you can see on HPI
's website...

I was at the HPI challenge at raceway 301.......rs4's did a great job against the newer evo 3 chassis's.....
