Default ROAR Question..

I have been looking through the ROAR rule book to see if it's legal to race electric with glow. To be more specific can a electric powered 1/8 on-road car run with glow powered 1/8 on-road cars.........BB

A link to some video with Scott Kimbrough at the wheel...

Just another electric 1/8 car...

It would be against the rules. As you can see by the video, the 1/8th b/l setup was much faster than anything else on that track, so it would be unfair.

I'm interested in performing my own conversion sometime in the future, but as a separate class. Also, since theres no widely available kits, or easy conversions, the bugs haven't been worked out, expect this class to be in the experimental/exhibition stages for a few years.

That second one is insane, when he gets it pointed straight and mashes the throttle it takes off like a land rocket

I don't think you will ever see elect. and fuel combined at a ROAR event. Club race is a different story. Race director may elect to allow it on a limited bases, and see where it goes. If enough get interested, a new class will be born. One of our midwesterners had plans to run one in the MWS, not for points or position. I was looking forward to that, but he disapeared!
