Like the FW05T, the 06 only comes with the cast ones which strip when putting a decent amount of power through them.

I just bought this car to be a good parkng lot club racer. Now I find out that the gears are cast and the upgrades are discontinued, but I can find them somewhere for $70. What the heck.

Tell me this isn't true. I buy gears for my DM1 and my GT2 for alot less than that.

Question 1: Don't the big hobby shops or anybody care them for reasonable prices?

Question 2: What is the tuned pipe to give the stock engine more power, or should I go right to another engine?

Question 3: I noticed that the cutout for the flywheel on the bottom of the car is kind of small. Is this a problem for the bump start boxes?

I'm sorry to tell you...but it is true. welcome to the internet age. The online shops have delt a major blow the local hobby stores. Add to the fact, that sedan rc racing has gotten to the point, that is so expensive that not many people can afford to race them, like before. Your car is one of the movements to bring back inexpensive racing and now your just finding out at what cost. Because there are not as many local stores as before, the parts and upgrades pool has shrunk. Most of the online stores only carry limited supplies and only restock if the cars is popular. That leraves us to sift the net, forums, or ebay and importers to find items needed for our rc cars. There are still some good stores out there but you have search the net to find them.

Answers to your questions

1 No...you have to find a small LHS that may still have the part in stock somewhere. The big shops only carry the current stuff that's moving.

2. Let me say this. Almost any tuned pipe will be better than the stock pipe. And yes getting a better enging and pipe would be the best choice for getting more power, of course now you're throwing low budget out the window. Here are some sites that care pipes and manifolds for the FW-06:
www.rcmart.com, www.rcmushroom.com, www.rcmodel.com.hk Most of these are importers that still carry stuff for that car. You can Always go to Kyoshousa.com but their prices are high.

3 Kyosho has a bump box that has a high torque, small diameter wheel. I'm sure there are some other brands that have it too or wheel that you can swap on your bumb box to make it work. Try www.amainhobbies.com for one.

Thanks for the help. So this FW06 is not a new model. I was under the impression it was a recent release.

Seriously thinking of selling it since it is new and sticking with my other cars; Team Magic G4S rtr and my Vone RRR WC Evo.

thanks again for your help.
