hey guys. im so happy! i got my ntc3 on wednesday and it was such a sweet deal, only thing im a bit unhappy about is all the cleaning i had to do, but other than that its perfecto.

heres a pic

i got that for $410 cdn with 3 sets of tires, and 5 old crummy bodies for bashing and etc.

i also bought the associated starterbox for it and i only have one bolt thats holding the motor on so ill take it back to the shop and ask for a bolt.

a few questions, what is a blade anti rollbar? i have anti rollbars off my electric tc3 and they fit but i dont know if they will work the same as they do on my electric?

i have the kit version that isnt version 2, should i start racing and getting experience before i get version2 rear suspension?

the car came with a gh chassis which is crazy light IMO, are there any other upgrades i should consider for the car to perform better? and can i please get a good setup to run on an outdoor tennis court floor? me and a few buds will be setting up a track there near my house.

thanks and i hope u enjoyed my long post

Looks good dude!

Since you're just bashing, it's probably not worth updating the rear suspension unless your track is going to have boards around it. If you break something then maybe it would be worthwhile to replace it.

I can't see that you'd need too much more as it has most of the good hopups (The fix in the front, alloy drive cup, CF radio tray etc). Maybe the only other thing you might consider is using a CF side brace to help protect the tank from the pipe if you get t-boned.

As for setup on rubber, start with the kit setup (you can download it from the AE website). As for the blade sway bar, have a look at the options pages on the website and you'll see what it looks like. Might be worthwhile.

Cheers,

Mike.

Hey,

I have comming what basically is the NTC3 RTR plus kit. I have plans to nix the radio for my XR3.

I am also wondering if I can use my ETC3 sway bars on the NTC3

If anyone knows the club, I'll be racing at RAMS (site of the 2004 ROAR Fuel 1/8th scale & 1/10th open Nats) and be racing it in 1/10 open/outlaw. Would the .15 AE do me okay? It's comming with an extra OS .15 too. I need a setup for RAMS if anyone could help me there.

Thanks -Dan

The Fix is 2 screws that go up from the chassis through the diff case & 2 bolts that have been tapped & threaded go down through the shock tower. They screw together & stop the shock tower tearing off the upper diff case in an impact. The are available through BMI. you can get it at http://www.bmiracing.com

The AE .15 will get slaughtered in Open/Outlaw. I read your posts in "Yo Nitro" & I think you would be better off in a sports class. Guys that run open generally spend a ton of cash to be competitive on top shelf engines, tyres etc. If you run that class with a stocker & cheap tyres you will be a speed bump & risk totaling your ride & someone elses. Besides racing is much more fun in a class that is suited to your car, where you have a chance at finishing in the A. Dont be offended but just remember you cant run a VW Beetle in an F1 race & what you plan isnt too much different.

Default K factory Fuel Tank

I've noticed there's a filter inside the tank. Do I still have to run another filter to the engine?

There is NO sports class

Will an OS CR .15 be any better?

And can I use my ETC3 sway bars on the NTC3

Thanks, Kat

im just gonna go ahead and use the anti roll bars off my etc3, they seem to work, and its a lot cheaper than a blade rollbar. now if i can only get the front diff gear which was stripped to hell when i bought the car.

you can use electric tc-3 sway bars, they are not near as stiff as a blade though.you need a stiff sway bar or blade with a nitro cause its way heavier.most your electric bars are probably too light.cant hurt to try?

With the sway bars, as long as the electric ones you have are thick enough it should be ok. AE suggestes .093" front and .078" rear as the minumum. Not sure what that is in metric, however I'm sure you'd be able to find a converter on the net somewhere.

As for running a .15 in the outlaw class, why not try running a .12 5 port turbo instead. I'm sure it would make better power and some of the Katana engines and the like are relatively cheap. I'll be running an STS engine this weekend for the first time, so I'll report back on how that goes.

Cheers,

Mike.

Hey Revz, I'm going to be running an RS5 that I got cheap and converted it to an D3 by changing the piston and sleeve. I'll still let you know how it goes.

Cheers,

Mike.

im pretty sure i have a collari xs .12 non turbo engine, ive tried to look up information on it but the only site i found said it had 1.4hp which lit up my face, does anyone know the approximate this engine would be selling for new?

also, i was running my car on a tennis court like 2 mins away, and people didnt want to hear the noise, i wasnt running a body and i have the blue associated pipe, im pretty sure when the body goes on that it will be less noise, am i correct? also ive read that the dual chambered pipe seems to have a lower sounding pitch?

im looking for ways to silence the nitro a bit for local driving by my house, of course when im on the track ill let it go apeshit and max flow, but just looking for a relatively cheap solution.

The Collari engine sells for upwards of US$250 new. They are hand modified and I think they are RB based but I could be wrong. Don't worry too much about the power output, that motor is more about how well it makes it's power.

As for making a nitro car quieter, the body won't make much of a difference to how loud it is. Not really a lot of options to make it quieter. Maybe best to find somewhere less intrusive to run it.
