Speedydave- My pit partner runs a MTX3 and it is a good car, but I really like the NTC3 either car will break if you are hitting walls or other cars so you must learn to drive clean, this will also help with lap times more than anything else.

If you have good access to parts I say go for the NTC3. If money is a concern get a used team car and put on the new V2 suspension and you are ready to go.

A good set up and clean driving will get you ahead of 70% to 80% of the guys at any track with any good out of the box kit. The used car I bought had been raced for two years buy a guy at our track and he had never done better than mid pack in the B-main. I took his used car and motor rebuilt every part and put a good set up on it and put it in the middle of the A-main, he was in the C-main with his new MTX3 and Turbo 3 port motor.

Speed is about clean/smooth/consistent driving with a good setup.

I runed the NTC3 for a year and let me tell you, its not as weak as people make it out to be. Back then I used to run on a board track only. We were 4 guys running the NTC3 and we pitted together, and between the 4 of us the cars saw major crashes and they kept on going.

Heres a pic of wher I sued to run

The new #2034 & #2035 Team kits with V2 rear suspension are available:

I assume that you mean the low profile K factory tank? Yes I have run with it. Hard to compare though because I have never run th e original. All I can say is that it has taken a couple of hits and is OK. Looks ALOT better also.

I think this is a good tank. I run one....It has a built in fuel filter. I added a piece of foam between the pipe and the tank to absorb the blow in the case of an impact. It worked well.

I also use the K- Tank, I have used it since it first came out. I only thing I dislike is the fact it leaks fuel around the fill lid. When running the car hard I guess the pressure is higher and it seeps around the seal. A stronger spring would be nice there.

Stripped 2 speed clutch housing

can anyone suggest how to overcome this problem. The area concerned is the hole where you put in the screw to attach the spur gear.I think the material for the housing is too soft.Is the any hardened clutch housing available.

So far I've lost/stripped 2 spur gear.

For a temporary remedy I use a bigger screw found in my toolbox.Hope that it works.Have not run on the track yet.

Casualty count

Having a FT NTC3 for the past 1 month, here are the list

1) Two 2nd spur gears - due to (3)
2) One rear shock tower -running without body shell
3) One 2speed clutch housing - stripped screw hole
4) Two pivot ball - bent- Left front upper + lower

hopefully the list will stop there.

What are the other parts there are prone to breakage apart from the normal wear+ tear.Dont tell me to drive like a tortise..Your inputs are much appreciated

I use to have a NTC3, and odds are you're gonna buy alot more than that. We went through drive pinions & ring gears like crazy.

Goodbye AE... Hello HPI!!!
