So i have no problem with replacing shoes, rebuilding ball diffs,or anything else the tc 3 needs..I've been racing 2 cars since they came out..and have less spent on both cars in a year(including the price of the cars)than I have in ONE HPI racer 2..
Well said Harry. Most people complain about the costs of the lastest racers but they dont even realise how lucky they are to have such a competitive car without adding another grand or more to it. I know where your coming from and feel the pain your pocket went through

You just broke my heart The pain is unbearable. Reminds me of when I was racing 1:8th onroad nitro and 1:10th off-road electric buggies at the same time at a competitive level. Very costly.

I usually clean and relube them every 15 to 20 runs..and rebuild the second time around...

One of the best kept secrets of the Tc3 is Associated cheap part pricing...You can get the rebuild kit with EVERYTHING including a new gear for 13 bucks..and thats with carbide balls for the diff balls..

The 705 is coming on nicely. Got it all broke-in and freed up now and the set up is just about perfect. Really is a nice car to drive. Very smooth. Definately better than the Mugen. And nicer to work on and set up

Out of curiosity, out of the box, do we need to modify the parts to assemble the 705? for example, do we need to use a hand-saw to saw off any parts, drill any extra holes, or do any filing to assemble the car? In other words, is the 705 engineered to precision so that all parts fall in its place without any extra work done?
One thing that I heard people talk about the MTX3 is that they will need to sand down the brake pads. Not sure about whether they need to file down the sg shaft of the engine.

Serpents are designed tight...some people just run them till they break in.others carefully ream the arms and such till the fall free..

others use the hairdryer to heat the parts....

Serpents need a little massaging when they are being put together...but theres no rear end slop like the Mugens, thats for sure..

I think it would be a great idea if somebody with a good deal of experience could make a list in point form, of all the little quirks that need to be looked at with this car. I know I would really appreciated it!

We could all chip in our experiences, and then compile it to one big NTC3 knowledge base in one message that we can print and refer to (atleast for those new to the kit) .. I have an MTX-3, and just bought an NTC3; I would love to have all the things I need to know right here; saves alot of time and would be great for everybody!

Make it into sections like :

Needed Performance Upgrades
----------------------------------------

- blah blah
- etc.

Problem Areas
-------------------

- blah blah

Building Tips
------------------

- dddd

Foam/Rubber Setup tips
-------------------------------

and any other little sections, like cool addons, your fav radio, engine and experiences .. anything you want to add

I bought the stupid POS tuning guide from the NTC3 site, what a waste of money ... nothing I didn't know already; I thought It might have more NTC3 specific info. like the above ... I guess I didn't understand what the guide was aiming at :S oh well.

Thanks all!!
Should be a great tool for eveyrbody if we can get enough info. then I;ll compile it all into a single document.
