It is called the FW05, so perhaps it will be supersized.

From the Kyosho site (translated)

July sale schedule KYOSHO CUP " R " class official recognition. The shaft drive 4WD of preponderantly light drive type, 2 speed, in the 3d clutch, the long suspension arm and the ultralow center of gravity design et cetera which it is thorough, it actualizes the running which shows high aggressive power. Participating you are not wrong even with other 1/10GP touring car race!

Interesting how you all know it will suck by looking at a pre-production picture

IT LOOKS LIKE A TRASHY CAR... they couldnt fit everything nicely so they just shoved it all together... and again its a split shaft like the hpi... it just looks like it will suck... But that doesnt mean it will... but judging from that pic... it will suck... but hey i may be wrong it may be the best shaft car to date... but i still would choose to keep my ntc3

I think kudos to Kyosho for offering both belt and shaft drive cars based on a similar platform (the V1R platform).

I have heard the same about the new Yoke.

Yes it is very interesting that every one is going shaft... Ofna, kyosho, Yoke, hell even mugen (though they say its rtp (ready to play...) but they know that shaft is beter they are just slowly transitioning... yeah they still are making their belt cars their main ones... cept maybe ofna... but they are reallizing that shafts are the shit... belts just suck... theres no other way to put it... cause with belts theres always more negatives thatn possitives... and eventually they will sell the shafts as the main car for racing.
I dont like mugens aproach though... just make a cheap throw together car and not even try to make it race worthy...

O i meant to ask a while ago what is drag break? lol

Belts are easy to design is one of the main reasons they are used so much. It takes a lot of expertise to properly design a ring/pinion gear box and mass produce it. I tend to agree that from a maintenace side of things belts truly do suck because of how complicated the layouts are to clean, take apart, and pebbles will rip a $10 belt to shreds.

Default It'll only be a matter of time...

...before we see the foam-tired, 1/8th scale on-road monsters switch over to shaft drive.
