It has always been my impression that the throttle return spring should be hooked to the ball on the slide of the carb, as to always bring the engine to an idle no matter what fails or pops off. just my 2 cents.

I was thinking that too, but I couldnt figure out where youd attach it to for a slide carb, mabey the engine mount? although with an onroad car its not likely that it would pop off anyway unless you setup your linkages wrong.

how do u lower the engines temperature? just the high speed needle? I made a couple of runs today at the malls parking lot and completely set the idle speed. Problem is that the engines temp keeps on rising. whats the suppose to be the ideal temp? 250-270 deg?

and one more thing. do I have to tune my engine everytime I use it? I didnt use it for 2 weeks and when I started it again today the idle speed is not set thats why I have to tune it. The last time I use it the engines idle speed is already set. Can u pls help me out with these probs guys pls pls?

im using os12tr and 20% o'donnel. many thnx

ImportRacer1187,
Yes, the S9550 is about 1/2 the height of a standard servo.

penggoy,
I don't have the part number for the spring, but ask any hobby shop for Losi throttle return springs and you'll get these. You get 2 springs and 4 of the mounts.

chuck h & AE Racer,
Yes, according to ROAR rules the carb itself has to have the return device mounted directly to it, but it's not that easy to do on a slide carb. Most guys use a very small elastic pony tail holder (for your hair). That works well, but has to be checked & replaced frequently. I chose this set-up because it was simple & it works well, along with a fail safe. The only way I would have a problem is if the ball cup on the carb popped off (not an uncommon thing, but didn't happen to me all last season). I' ll have a elastic band on it before I run it, or season starts here in 2 weeks.

Default NTC3 Clutch

I tried the MIP #3076 NTC3 clutch today, retail price is $15.95, and this is the clutch to use!! The punch off the line and out of corners is terrific. Don't waste your money on the KFactory or the other clutch without trying one of these.

How does it compare to a modded(NTC3NUT-style 3 shoe clutch? I returned to the 3 shoe because of the inconsistent performance of the Kawahara unit. And does the MIP clutch needs mods too?

BTW, the LD3 centax performs like a MTX3 centax and it's light too. Too bad it can't be used on the NTC3.

Hi! I just ran my car today (ntc3). I notice that when I give it some gas the car don't accelerates fast, it takes like for about a while to get up to speed. Do anyonw know what can I adjust to make it accelerates faster? Had two crashes during the run today. Scrtached the head on my Sirio engine, my body was scraping the ground and I thoght it won't flip, but it did couple of 360. Cliped the curb on the second crashed and couple of 360 upsidedown. Luckly nothing broke. Hopefully I do better next time. Any way if anyone know what I can do to make it go faster please give me some advice. Your help is very apperciated, thank!

Default 2 sp clutch housing

Does anyone know why the lightweight 2nd speed clutch housing was discontinued by AE?

I was told by Ae that they discontinued the light 2 speed housing because of dirt and debree being picked up and forced into the 2 speed clutch shoes. I have used it since it was released and never had a problem with it.
