1/8 on road standard wheel hex.. what size are they?

whats the standard wheel hex size for 1/8 on roads? 14 or 17mm?

Team Kamikaze 07-02-2008 09:32 PM

1/8 on road does not have a wheel hex.
are you talking about the 1/8 scale 4wd?

FREELANCE_RCer 07-02-2008 11:45 PM

For 1/8 on-road IGT it's 17mm hex.

For fast 1/8 on-road with lola body is 12mm holey moley. :tire:

yes on road 4wd cars... do they use a 17mm hex like 1/8 buggies/trucks and truggies as well?

JVStrat 07-03-2008 06:23 AM

1/8 On Road hasn't used hex drive anything since the stoneage of fuel on road racing ( around 1968-70 BF). As stated above 12mm holey moley.

I think he is talking about buggy based onroad in which case I believe it's the standard 17mm hex.

If you are talking about real 1/8th cars (Mugen MRX4, Serpent, Kyosho Evolva, etc.) they do not use a hex. Just a round axle and a pin.

Hex Nut for the 1/8th On-Road Serpent 960 has made a recent comeback

Serpent part Number 902270 and 902370, however, I don't see many folks using them very often.

Those are 12mm

nitrodude 07-03-2008 07:56 AM

Thats not a hex drive. The wheel is still driven by the pin, that just eliminates the quick realease mechanism. The hex you see is the nut, you use a hex wrench to tighten the nut to the axle.
