Default TG777 1st test

first test report for 777 moded Sirio

As per instruction 2 tank idle, and 1 tank slow around the track with about 70 degree then start lean it for race tune. using no.6 plug 16%nitro fuel 5% caster and 5% synthetic. running standard tallest gearing from Kyosho 18/48, 22/44 at the moment, for this gearing engine feels strong every where., got lots of bottom but due to that gearing I ran out of gear at middle of the straight STILL HAVE MORE FROM IT, power down to the pipe nice and early, engine screaming at this point need to back off to prevent engine failure. Engine bottom end actually can match with one of the shaft drive car LD3 where its powered by the latest RB V12 Rody, at the back straight he can pull away a metre after exit the corner and I wheel it back at the end, so I guess its pretty even contest. engine running at around 120-130 degree. air temp 22c

I have driven few lap on that Rody power LD3, it was the best acceleration car i ever drive. launch out the corner like a rocket. but then again my 777Sirio power kyosho not far off from it and it has got better top end.

see ya
Tommy

try with different exhaust. Kyosho japan said they never have any gear problems on V1 even when we sent them the 24T conversion to test. Insist the std gear is fine!
Do you have any of those 5 star/ kawahara ( shorter pipe ) to test with?

I don't know what this mean "run out of gearing" it is gears striped or ratio is wrong, anybody can explane, in order to help me understanding car's issues, please.

Ratio is wrong.

Requires running talling gearing to get down the straight.

Default Xmas

Santa.tw is sending me a present containing some Mystery Eastern Power.

Hopefully it arrives before I leave for the Nationals on monday.

Hey Tommy perhaps we should organise some drag racing at the Hotel, see how the D3.5 goes against the 777 Sirio.

Santa.tw??? I bet that is someone who doesn't sleep so much and one of their favourite words is FXXK..

Drag racing with a Sirio??? Poor driver or it. Is a good engine but weak at low-end, wish good luck on the 6Ft mark.

We are at the Carseldine Palms. We arrive at the track Monday arvo, hopefully I will be able to combine the running in process with some track familiarisation

We should meet up at the track and ooh and aah over our respective new toys.

Perhaps I should bring this up here... You mention in the 1/8th scale WC thread that the Sirio engine used by L. Collari and other Kyosho drivers has it's sleeve integrated with cooling fins on the top of sleeve. I take it that it gives better cooling? Any other advantages? Any benefit if this technology be integrated onto smaller .12 engines assuming it can be done? Thanks.
