No word on the price, but my guess is it won't be more than $50 between the two models, much like the Hyper7 and the 9.5.

Driveline differences: one is belt (and depending on RTR or Pro, the belt is on the other side!) one is shaft (with the CD3 putting the engine on the other side...). There was a video of Ofna's booth at RCX where they showed their new models. Gotta find it. Looks like they're gonna package some starter boxes with some of their kits, much like the Hyper7. If they have a box with the CD3 Pro, it's a wrap for me...

Ran the car in the points series yesterday. Came in 3rd. The car handled pretty well. I just needed more motor (got beat by a MT12 and a MS special. That CVR didn't stand a chance unless they crashed). Hopefully, when the NovaMega comes in, that should handle that. Didn't crash the car, didn't get loose (at least after I tightened the rear shock mount), nice turn in, not much push (unless I got on it). Now I have to decide whether or not to get a new pipe or stick with the 6 rib that I have on there now. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

As for the gearing: the OS is currently running 17/22 and the tranny 44/39. This is a really big track (225+ straight, meant for 1/8 and 1/5 racers). Now, I'm getting a modded Nova. Should I drop to a 16/21 or a 15/20, and why? I'm pretty sure teh engine will rev higher than the CVR ever dreamed...

spenz, if youre getting a new engine (novamega), get a new pipe. try the ths or rdlogics one for the ntc3. goodluck and congrats on your 3rd place finish.

The engine is made by fanthom, its a .12 side exh. slide carb. High flow 5.5mm carb on it race ported light weight crank
HP is at 1.15 which is pretty decent & max rpm is 41,700 this is where I have some concern at , can this engine realy wind up to that high of rpm? If this is so then with the right gearing this motor can be a KiLLeR . ONe more thing this mill comes with a threaded crank, now will this fit in the LD# 3 is what I want to know. ???? Help on this please....... Part number is FAN01017....

It is my understanding that you may use standard or sg shaft without any trouble in ld3 although you may need to cut the threaded shaft if it is too long.

Thanx. The engine is acutally the side exhaust SX12, so I will try to find either a THS or the RdLogics pipe and see how that works. I hope this will bring me closer to the front of the pack
