If everything is set up correctly no reason the servos should be failing...

what brand?

I run 5 KO's and one Sanwa, never had a problem yet (touch wood). Used in tournig cars & 1/8 buggy..

Only thing I can think of is your working the brakes to hard, overloading the servo?

you might have set the saver too stiff or the steering servo is of lower quality (less torque)...........

Are you using the rubber mounts on the servo and not over tightening the screw?? the throttle servo is very close to the engine and gets a LOT of vibrations...this is usually enough to cause an early death for most servos.....

Also if you are using the std or Pro chassis...make sure the bottom of your servo is NOT touching the chassis...suspend it higher about 1mm off the chassis......otherwise it gets a lot of vibrations up the arse!!
