The failsafe plugs in between the throttle servo and the receiver. In the event of loss of signal (either due to radio interference or loss of voltage) the failsafe will move the throttle servo to a preset position and hold it. Some people, like myself, have it set to go to full brake. Others have the servo go to neutral, so they can coast and steer out of trouble. Once the interference is taken care of, servo operation goes back to normal.

Hope that helps

Not entirely true.....if you have interference the failsafe will go to a set position for the servo. If someone switches on using exactly the same frequency and the same brand TX as you....your car still goes crazy because it is recieving a valid signal...just slightly messed up..........

Hey guys, gotta get a new body for the ride. I really don't want to use the AudiTT just yet, and the Eclipse is now officially done. Any suggestions? I've had my eye on the new Mazda6....

It just closes the throttle back down in case it gets stuck wide open, so you don't blow a motor or hurt someone. A mechanical throttle return spring (or rubber band/oring on carb) is the best solution IMO.

The new Mazda 6 is the best handling body I've tried so far.

Good deal. I'm trying to stay away from the Stratus and Alfa. Yes they work, but too many of them out there! So I've eyed said Mazda, MG and Altima (painted one, never ran it)

I'll have to post pics of theEclipse. Looks like a cut away...

LOL seems like everyone here (in L.A.) is using the 6 now. Incredible steering with amazing overall downforce and stability. Being a true believer in the good old standard Stratus, I was totally blown away by the Mazda 6.

Nope, it's connected to the throttle servo, it causes the servo to brake and not accelerate, giving you time to make it to the car and not have it run off on a wild rampage .
