That maybe so, but it does seem to limit revs a fair bit (without being too lean anyway). Maybe a better option is different pipe and adjust gearing so you still get the full rpm of engine?

I should have more of an idea how different the pipe is once I fit a new one

Generally, I have not heard anything but good about those engines.

and from my previous experiences, they are competitive with novarossi engines with half the price tag

Yea eh the price tag on the D5 is very good nearly half of what an RB 5 port turbo is up here....

Parts support should not be that bad either since CRC is the north American agent and they use the STS engines in their own race cars.

I have both D3 and D5 and they both run awesome with just the price of one expensive novarossi engine. You need some little more patient to run in the engine to make it fast.

you should be able to get an even out power band with the pipe.

If you dont mind buying overseas, there are a few reputable stores selling at around $200 CDN shipped.

With that price, you pretty much got nothing to loose

Yea I was just looking at RC Mushroom's site in HK.....208 CDN shipped for a D5. By comparison I was also just looking at an RB 5 port turbo Rody tuned at Ace Hobbies....bout 500 CDN shipped

So much for the thoughts of getting an RB just cause it has an orange head that matches the LD3 Champ's orange aluminum parts I can get one each of the STS ROAR legal and outlaw class engines for 100 bucks less but so much for the fashion statement

Default RB ???

Yeah, Steve, I was thinking the same.I know Ace has several versions of the orange head .12.They have some with bare alum/silver? crankcases that are around $200 U.S.I know performance wise they prolly arent as powerful, and I wanted one with the black case anyway...but after seeing the $350 price...Im not so sure
