The brakes not on is it?
Open the rear diff case and have a look whats stiff...

Both my LD3's have been fine

No, I took the brake completely off, but it is still relatively new so perhaps it takes a while to "bind-in".

I am still in the process of building it. I have the same problem but I haven't driven it though I just noticed that it binds. Its the plastic when I looked at it it was the was the diff case it looked like it should wear down after about I half gallon. I heard that some people breaking it in with a drill.

check the gear mesh between the big bevel gear and the small input shaft bevel gear in the rear gear box. if you assembled it according to the manual, it is on a bit of tight side.

Could it also be that I used the 6 gear diff instead of the 4 diff?

shouldnt be the case.

besides, the diff housing and the outdrive is a bit tight fit after I assembled the diff. what I did is to use a drill to run in that area.

Definately sounds like the diff needs to be reshimmed. At first, the gears will feel a bit notchy (even with 6 gear diff) but that wears in after a bit. Try moving the shims one at a time until it remains slightly tight, but doesn't bind

I wish it was warmer in my area. I really want to run my car. I decided to go on and upgrade the RTR with all the c/f and aluminum stuff. It looks cheaper than having that champ edition shipped to the US. I need another car for spring, but still haven't decided. I may get the 2nd LD3 or an R40 (really good parts support at my shops). But I'll see. Great bodies, BTW

Hmmm. Not too sure on that. I better do a head to head price comparison later on and see.

OK. I just did a quick check at RCModel (I know, not the best prices, but it was a quick point). I figure to get all I need to complete the most basic upgrade (chasis, shock towers, lower A-arm holders, rear cva, radio tray, side brace, front bumper, a few other bits) would run $253 plus shipping. A few of the upgrades (the difs, brakes, steering rack) I already have. I'm not too concerned with the one way diff, either and am not sure if the champ edition comes with the centax (does it?). Now, they have the champ edition for $369, almost $120 difference (not to mention the $55 shipping cost!). But thats a complete kit with all the bits I didn't even mention, body, pipe, tires, carry case etc...

Talk about a problem with cost to value...

I got my Ld3 Pro for $220 dollars and it comes with all the hop-ups that you mentioned. Except for the centax clutch. It even came in a nice carrying bag that would cost about $55.00 new.
