Does anyone own the LD3 and the Mtx-3?

For those that do, how does the quality of the two cars compare? I am guessing that Mugen's quality is a bit better, but I may be wrong.

Any inputs are much appreciated

Coming from someone owning alot of ofnas and Mugens, Ofna's quality will never be near Mugen standards. I am not saying that OFNA is cheap or not capable, because my Nitro OB4 used to tear up the track, but just not as racer oriented IMO. I loved the OB4, but being more of a mugen fan, I think Ill step into a MTX-3 rather than the LD3.

BTW I own....

OFNA
2 Hyper 7 pro's
2 Nitro OB4's
3 Monster Pirates
2 Titans

Mugen
MRX-3 (sold recently)
MST-1 (sold recently)
MBX-5 (still have)

I would say that the quality of the gears inside the gear difff is much much better quality than I have in my V1RR and my previous MTX2. Overall I was surprised by the overall "good" quality of the LD3 during its build. It may be because I built the car with most of the options from the start because the plastic was a little suspect in certain areas...I do know that.

Also, the plastic quality of Mugen (at least during the MTX2 days) did not really impress me that much. The actual material may be quite tough...but overall quality is very marginal! Kyosho beats them hands down when it comes to molding quality.....

I really haven't had too much problem with the quality of the plastics on th ecar. Then again, considering I'm coming from electric (Losi XXX-S) and my last nitro was a MKII Spider, I don't have much of a point of reference! The only thing I can really think I didn't like on my LD3 was the radio tray which seemed flimsy and the shock mounting holes on the lower A arm tend to strip out more often than I like

Ofna's quality on plastics has been very inconsistant IMO, and also their metals for their gears have varied drastically from kit to kit. Now Im talking Ho bao, and Hong Nor. They both have suffered in many departments, but shine in others. As for moldings for Mugen, Ive built almost 10 of their kits, and although thats not a huge number, the parts fitment has always been top notch. Its sad to say, but I havent built a newer Kyosho(only vintage K cars) so I cant do a full out comparison to them. I have heard that there is some hand fitting to do on the MP 7.5's though.

Yes, they fit...but the built in "slop" from the pillow balls and front upper A arms from new always use to drive me mad on the MTX2.....it is the same with all the MTX3 I have seen so far......

Hello From Spain:

Sorry for my bad english.

I want to buy the optional chassis and I donīt know where is it.

I prefer to buy in Honk Kong but RCMART, RCMODEL and Jetthobby donīt have this hop up.

Iīm interested in the TEAM VERSION that is only sold in ASIA
where can I buy it?

Anybody have problems with gas servo?
I have problem with the original chasis because the servo was very hot and in 30 min finals sometimes donīt work.

I would have to recommend http://rc-mushroom.com as the best source of parts, service and price are outstanding. They dont actually carry any LD3 parts but they will order what you want in (if there is enough LD3 interest they will carry parts)

This is the chassis you are after:
LS-32 LD3 ALUM 3.5MM CHASSIS $26.00

Other cool items:
LS-33 LD3 FLOATING REAR BODY MOUNT $4.88
338 1/10 SP SHOCK SPRING 6 COLORS $10.83
LS-21 LD3 ALUM SERVO SAVER $17.33
LS-17 LD3 ALUM F/R LOWER ARM HOLDER $14.08
LS-16 LD3 ALUM F/R UPPER ARM HOLDER $21.67
LS-04 LD3 6 GEAR DIFF (gears) $5.42

Full Kits:
LD3-PRO LD3/4WD/PRO VERSION $ 230.60
LD3-STD LD3/4WD/STANDARD VERSION $ 155.00
LD3-STD-15 LD3/4WD/STD VERSION/15 ENGINE $216.67

The team version might be the "Champion Edition" LD3, its got most (if not all?) the hop ups

My Ld3 standard came with threaded alloy shocks I was expecting to see those lexan ones. The pro comes with the centax clutch, 3mm chassis etc.

If anyone wants a list of prices email or pm me. Ive ordered from them 3 times now and been very happy.

What servos are you using? I use Ko Propo (and one Sanwa) and have had no problems yet.

Rushdude, I run a sirio .12 trp pro and a novarossi .12 pullstart in my LD3's (nova brand new this week)
