hahaha. I refuse to get a centax until I get that CD3. My LD will have to go as is. I'm going to see what a 6 tooth spread will do. I can do a 7 tooth with the gears I have, but I'm not too sure how practical that will be. I will get some pics up at some point.

I'm not getting one. I like my ld3 pro but I honestly don't see any need to convert/upgrade from ld3 to cd3. I don't mean to sound negative or anything and I realize it has a lot of cool features for what should be a nice price but honestly I don't think I will be buying hong nor anymore because lets face it the thing is a cheap copy. I'm sure it will be very capable car but I would rather support a more innovative company. Just my opinion and remember I have and like very much my ld3 pro

its not that much of a copy.. at least the tank is diferent!
but in all seriousness there are only so many ways you can build a car in that configuration? why doesnt anyone say that the HPI RS43 is a copy of the FW-05R? (or more correctly FW-04), kawahara have made a unique design of the FW-05R which i commend them for, but everything is copy of everything these days, as most everything has been done once upon a time ago (even the TRF415 isnt a tamiya model, its designed by tech-racing) and from what ive heard the CD3 and the FW-05R handle quite differently, and in reality if you put a FW-05R and a CD3 next to eachother they look quite different (i have done this comparison before, trust me the cars aint that identical!)the CD3 is basically the suspension geometry of an LD3 with the greatly improved handling the chassis offers, still the shaft drive power and the hugely improved top speed that the new pipe configuration gives (theres one CD3 at a track i race at, with a RB V12 3 port he kills me on top end with my novarossi 5 port)

I hear what your saying but honestly the "only so many ways to build a car" argument won't get you very far when speakin of Hong nor's LD3 and CD3. I have spoken my thoughts and I don't want to get everybody in the ld3 thread mad at me I will not buy cd3 but I wish good luck and happiness to you guys that do buy one

It's the original lid and the original tank. I got one of teh first runs on the LD3, so I never knew they made a change. HAven't broken it and haven't had a problem out of it yet.

IDN: I respect your opinion. You're not bashing Ofna per se; you just don't want to but a CD3, correct?

Looking at the Ofna website, it looks like they are doing the Pro version correctly. I just hope they have the option of bundling that starter box with it. It would make life much easier

spen you wont be dissapointed with your CD3, the handling is like the car is on rails and the top speed is amazing!

Exactly! I like my ld3 very much. I have had no issues with ofna other than a few parts missing from my kit. You know the GP4 catches my eye, not sure when that one is coming out though. I am itching to build a new kit

I have to agree w/IDn also i'm keeping my ld3. I think the car is a copy of the ld3 w/just more options. I think if you turn the cd3 engine around you got an ld3. Some one in the HN camp had some special tea, got crossed eyed and made the cd3. Can't they come up w/better names for these cars??? If you put the same gearing & engine in both cars you would have two of the same cars IMO>I think they could of done better with the design of the car but hey you can only go so far in nitro design now a day..... this is not a bash on the cd3 its just my 0.02 won't get me far but it's what I got
