Default fuel

Does everyone think this is just about the olympics think again. Bush has made a lot of changes since 9/11 and the higher nitro fuels can have the nitro removed very easily by terrorists. Thats why I mention his name. You also have to realize that the earthquakes had a lot with the chinese nitro plants shutting down. It's also hard to realize why legitimate hobby shops are happy with making just a couple of dollars a gallon for profit. No wonder so many are closing. When so many of you buy off the internet instead of your LHS the 35-40 dollars a gallon that I mentioned is not out of line. They have to make a living.

If the nitro can be removed from fuel by terrorists, why does it matter what percentage of nitro is in the fuel? The terrorist would just buy more fuel, and remove the nitro to get the nitro amount they need.. Not a very logical debate.. Unless the terrorist are very underfunded, and could only afford a few cases of 30% nitro Then again, if there that underfunded, how good is the plan their working with?

So tell me what Bush had to do with the earthquakes then? US regulation isn't making it hard to get. There is a VP not far from me that will sell me 90% nitro by the 55 gallon drum all day long when they have it. Of course all of it goes to the NHRA right now thanks to China. None of which has anything to do with Bush.

You got that right once the price goes up it will never return. The only way the price come back down if the whole RC market has a huge downsizing.

No more 30%. I wonder what the boat guys will do don't they normally run 40%.

A LH shop got a new shipment of 30% and 20% nitro yesterday and they were selling it for $22.00, which is the regular price. So I bought a couple of gallons.

Today, I went to another shop in Montclair, CA and the same fuel was selling for $36.00. Other brands were also in the $36ish.

hope they aren't price gouging.

Nitro has doubled in price over night , Nitro plants are closing till the olimpycs are over then re opening.. hopefully the flood of nitro, then, will reduce pricing as there are only a few plants in operation making the most of it..

does that make sense ? hmmm

They are not gouging. Expect to pay mid $30's for 20-30% fuel.

Just bought O'Donnell 30% from my local Hobby Town for $39.99(gallon). That's $12 more than the gallon I bought in April. The worst part was, they said that it would be the last gallon of it (30%) they would get for SIX months, if not more .....

True enough the myth of price gouging is confirmed. One local track is selling Byrons 25/9 at $26, and the other is $39.
