Default 1/10 out law

I have a MTX-2 outlaw. Its very fast and handles great but I am going to make it faster! Has anyone had any luck installing a .21 bigblock in a 1/10 car and if so where they able to make the car handle with the extra weight and is it worth doing?

Why not just get an MRX-3?

Why don't you try a .15 big block? They are veerryy powerful engines but maybe you will be able to keep your car in the track. It also costs less than .21 .

Well dude, you might wanna try a nice big block .15 like he said. My bud shoe horned a OS .21 in his nrs4 2 and lets just say it had some hard time driving it because of too much power.

Here is a picture of my fusion 21 with r-12 fusion hub carriers on it so I could put wider tires on it without grinding down the original carriers.

This little modification gave me alot more traction and made the car more controlable. The tires in the front are 30mm nitro shoes and the tires in the back are 35mm crc's. I also modified my radio tray to getthe components down lower for a lower center of gravity.

Default Re - Making the fusion run

The fusion is very fast car but it can also be a good handling car!! Anybody who has just purchased a fusion and you are having handling problems get rid of the rubber tires and get some foams you should notice an immediate improvment in traction and handling and if you need more traction do the nitrohead conversion put the hub carriers from the fusion r12 all the way around with 30mm's up front and 35mm out back and you will be planted. Remember you got a 1/8 scale motor on this chassis you will need some wide shoes to keep her hooked up traction wise when you are not going in a straight line.

If you want a very very fast outlaw car may be you should go with either Nova Vmax or Rody tune 5 port engine with Charge 7mm stinger pipe, then it will be very very fast! almost as fast as those 1/8th scale onroad!

Default 1/10 Outlaws

Ah10 - The tranny on the fusion is non adjustable with a high output engine the torque would make it jump immediatley into 3rd gear causing you to loose the benefit of having a three speed.

Oh! Well you really need to see one run that is hooked up. Big block fusion21 not the small block-12.

Whoever started this thread stated that their objective was to put a 21 size engine in the 1/10 scale car. May people have tried this before and ended up with cars that were only goood for going in a straight line. That is because they failed to address the issue of traction. You have just put a 1/8 scale motor in a 1/10 scale car. You can't expect that car to have very much traction or handle to well when you got a motor in their that is designed for tires that are usually 35-40mm wide! If you are going to make an outlaw aand you are planning to drop a big block 21 in there dont forget about doing something to increase your traction put the widest foam tires you can on your outlaw.
