No your not. Your thinking about buying a Nova Rossi based engine. Like a 35+21 or a 35+21T, or a MAX POWER, or a J.P., or a RB something or other with a brass sleeve....
Is this going to be your first .21 on road engine? What on-road experience do you have? Help us help you...

I have experience with 1/10 scale nitro on-road, 1/8 nitro buggy, 1/10 electric on-road..

this is my first time for 1/8 on-road ever...

RC Planet is willing to give me a hell of a good deal on the engine in terms of price...

is it no good?

If it was my first time rite now I would be looking at an Picco P9 or a O.S. ver. II or Mega .21DS?? what ever Serpents latest is. That Magnesium headed stepchild your looking at is VERY particular. It is very easy to become frustrated with 1/8th. You want something that is forgiving and relatively inexpensive to push the chassis while your figuring out the car. I have watched to many people blow there wad on there first car and give up because they were not competitive with in the first couple of races.
What are your other engine choices?

Stick with a Nova based motor. I really like the RB C6. And stick with a stock one until you run a Nats or some other big race. With the possible exception of the Picco based motors everything else is a headache waiting to happen.

it's a fast motor but a headache to break in..have 3 of these motors, but rather run on a JPr09. If you're starting out the picco will be your best bet
for less $$ its as fast depending on your tuning
The ninja engine days are numbered if i'm not mistaken

I would also look at the used market. An 1/8 scale is not for the femish. If you don't like it at least you haven't dump a ton of money into an engine. If you shell out big bills for an engine you'll be lucky to get 60% back on re-sale. Go with the Picco or OS. quick and controllable. If I went with a highend engine; I would stick with the Novarossi or RB engine. I would leave the Ninja for the next guy. IMO
