Fastharry, have you tried those RB's in cars other than the NTC3? I have an RB turbo 5-port and it has never ran acceptably sucessfully with a turbo plug - I struggled with random cutouts for weeks it seemed like. Once I changed it to standard plug and corrected the tank pressure problem, I have had no further tuning issues and it's been over a year and a half. I think it was a combination of both of those problems, but I'm not willing to go back and find out which. I'd bet a dollar it's those turbo plugs though.

Ok, hopefully they can be made available I was making my comments based on the available mentioned pinions and spurs.

Really? Then that's pretty OK then... I'm actually surprised at how Julius Kolff came in 2 grams underweight in the recent qualifying heats in the Euro 1/10 TC Championships in Villa Real, Portugal...

I hope it's not "a few hundred grams" difference like he mentioned

Will it work, with the right gearing sure it will, but dont expect to blow by Novas.

As for the RBs dunno what the probs you are having man. I know you are running the NTC3 and a mod X12 + NTC3 took Pavadis to a good win so the combo works well. You run a centax? Tuning novas without a stiff clutch is a PITA. Is it hot there? Running some extra head shims loses you some power but makes them idle a little easier. Similarly use a hot plug, a #5 or even an OS #8 (yeah I know they are short) to keep em idling.

I run a Rody 3 port with a #7 plug and .2mm extra head shim on our large track sometimes in 30+ degree heat with the centax cranked fully down and they rock.
I'll try teh head shim..They actually run fine....but you cant idle them for more them 5 second..you take off, they die...

then they start cutting out sometimes...

I might try an OS carb converesion also...

Pavidis ran a PICCO at teh worlds..

Both my engines are turbos......I've run them in other cars also...and my freinds run thm in serpents..some centax, some 2 shoe..

Both my tc3s have HD clutches....

I've been using the platinum RB plugs..in #6..hottest available..

Why? Defeats the purpose of having to run a Nova carb in the first place

He ran with a Picco all the way to the final. He is quoted as saying that he removed the Picco and went with the RB because he was "familiar with the tuning" of the RB. (I am guessing he means from 1/8th buggy?)

Barry Baker had TQ’d with a Picco engine. Billy Easton also used Picco. Mark Pavidis alternated between Picco and RB, but for the Final it was an RB engine in his car. Alberto and Eduardo Picco were at this race, supporting those racers using Picco engines. Rody Roem was also here from RB engines. Bragging rights for the next two years, along with many dollars in future sales were all riding on this single event!

Ummm, funny Mark mentioned that... Why would he worry about tuning the RB engine when the master tuner Rody Roem was there tuning his?

I would imagine the smack on the Picco brother's face when Mark won the race in an RB engine
