A couple of questions, we are looking forward to getting out to the Leisure Hours, we really enjoyed the event last year.

1.) Have you considered going to 5 minute qualifiers? In my opinion 10 minute qualifiers just use our equipment up faster, tires, engines etc.... It also requires even better pit hands, and for a lot of us that don't bring dedicated pit men, it puts another element that is beyond our control in qualifying. Maybe run another round of qualifying instead of 10 minutes?

2.) Also, will the mains be limited to a more manageable number of cars? Last year, I think you took like 14 cars or something to the A main in 1/8th, which on that track is way too much.

See you guys in 2 weeks.

Thx,

I think 5 minute quals will be nicer also. We could get 4 chances instead of 3.

Have to agree with Paul and Aaron on 5mins qualifiers. I'd rather run more quals. Most of us don't have dedicated pit men, and it factors in on qualifying and on equipment.

I will 4th the 5 minute qualifier plan. Just hoping that we can run a qualifier on Sunday morning. (One day Racer - other things to do on Sat.)

We people of age, hate to inconvenience someone else to stand around and pit for us plus pay attention to what they are doing. It is one thing to fuel someone's car and throw it down at the start of a race, it is another thing to actually look at a watch and hurry during the stop. That cuts down all the socializing and laughing at the guys on the track. Also, if I remember right the stairs are pretty high and it could be time consuming to pit my own car.

14 cars does seem like a pretty full field to run with for 30 or 45 minutes. I would expect a large amount of carnage and don't get me wrong that is great, I love to hopp it up a little during mass destruction.

The D main is for me, it should be much calmer. A little Sunday Morning cruise for 20 minutes. Hopefully, my car will be in one peice.

If this is supposed to be a FUN RACE, then we do not need 10 minute qualifiers and 10 cars make the show and 2 cars can bump up from the lower mains.

Maybe they should make that a rule, you need to pit your own car... (that was a joke.... ) and not poking fun at anyone, just having fun...

I hope to make this race... Now that I'm a member of Chicagoland... I just need to find time to get ready....

Lol Dennis. ......You always come off so excited. Great to read your post's!! Gets my blood pumping and my already high enthusiasm for the sport/hobby goes through the roof!!....lol

I've re-built my fav' Nova Rossi CT and will be running that. With a Red Dot in the back-up draw.

Tires wise. The K Factory ones work well there. But I'll also have GQ's with me too. I like to run the GQ's when the grip's higher. The grip was low at Leisure Hours for a good part of last year, but since the last Byron's, they have some good compound and the grip comes up real nice now!

Regards,
British Menace

I'm now in Elgin, (About 1 hour north of the track) and looking for my next job... The market is pretty tight... and I'm a senior person... So that is not helping either... I've cut back on all the fun stuff for the most part and watching the funds... That is the only reason that I would not make this race... I hope to come down and race, but we will see...

How is the QCs? You know I grew up around that area, and know it well...

The Quad Cities? Expanding! Getting bigger everyday....... lol

I think you'd see alot of changes if you ever get to come over.

You should look into work here. There is quite a few places taking on.
Not much in the RC world here though. Joliet is our nearest track at 2 1/2 Hrs away!

British Menace
