Evo, that's a good one. I don't profess to know everything but let us see you become an expert.

Cut the head/handle, flare the manifold, bend it and then get it welded at small welding shop.

You give me some hope there..

esham, might I suggest that you invest in a Kyosho manifold for the FW05R? I will get a picture posted when I get home but your manifold seems to be thinner than mine and that will probably affect performance.

It's ok Jeffrey because I already ordered RDlogic manifold and Five Star manifold for my FW-05R. For Kyosho manifold i do know that piece.

You would make a good secretary I think with your talents to be sure. Maybe Pieter has some room available?

Trust me I have been racing a V1R (and all other combinations) for 2 1/2 years and I have run a damn lot of fuel thru it over the time (at the track probably 1.5 times per week) On the tracks I run at with the current setup I had maxed that badboy out and was still getting spanked by the newer cars. As soon as I bought my R40 with a box stock setup I was as fast as I was with my highly developed Kyosho.

I will be running a RRR however....................

Could it be that the highly develped set up is at the transmitter end after 2.5 years?

What bits do you need to convert the rear end to MTX 3 uprights? Just the plastic bits or all the bearings and drives etc...

Cheers

I hear ya. I still love my V1R!! But all I am saying is that box stock the R40 is as fast as my V1R with various hopups added. A box stock Evo is slower than my R40. Both are still fast.

The only area I think the R40 is better is rear end grip. I think the lower CG of the R40 just gives it slightly better all around grip. The difference between the two cars is NOT a race winning difference.

Time to try the FW05R? Especially after running V1 for all these time the FW sould come as second nature to you.
