It is thicker than the stock one so you need longer brake pad screw to hold it. But more imporatnatly it's a lot heavier and adds too much weight on the drivetrain. I'd just replace the brake disk every now and then instead.
I'm talking about any aftermarket disk that is made out of stronger metal. Maybe from Kawahara or Eagle Racing.

Finally, are you talking about the Kawahara front end conversion or just the frnt damper kit?

BB
The steel ring gears are stronger and truer than the stock cast ones. I think they are also a little lighter. The 39t ring gears lower the FRD giving you more top end and a little milder acceleration compared to the 40t. The problem with the brake disk is that under acceleration the holes get enlarged by the brake pins.

I guess I'm talking about the Front End Conversion. The one that elimanates the Bulkhead Brace/Upper Arm Carrier.

also another question....the pinions are 0.8m but the spurs are 1.0m....? coz i've seen vonerr evo, and their spurs look true 0.8, unlike the 05r's

buddy
The spur gears are .8 pitch just smaller in diameter than the Evolution spurs.

Changing the pipe makes a big difference. I have the RD Logics pipe for the NRS4-3 and it seriously lacks top end. Both my NS and my mod MT-12 were struggling down the 160ft straight but when those engines are in my Evolution, they're absolutely ballistic. The pipe doesn't solve the problem but it helps a heap. Pipes to use are the Kyosho and the recently released RB one peice. You can find the RB at www.ace-hobbies.com

Racing4Evo: Thanks for that... of you change the frnt end off the car over to the Kawahara upgrade. Do you need to do the same for the rear? And i am still keen to know what the centre conversion will do.

Just had a look at the Square racing Brake Disk for the FW05-R, looks very impressive?

The top pic is the RD logics pipe and the bottom the RB pipe. Look at the difference in length of the manifolds!!

The RD is way too long.

I think the shorter it is the more top end you get right?

Cheers

You have 9369 to go !

The pipe length should be in the regions of 90 to 110 mm.

Can't find it anymore but RB used to have a page where it showed how to measure the pipe.
