Ziggy, it would be nice if you made one. But my opinion is that it's not necessary.

Just makes sure that the front side and rear side pulleys are equal (say 20T). Then put the front diff pulley as 40T (or 39T) and the middle pulley as 13T. For the rear, put the brake pulley as 13T while the rear diff pulley at 40T (or 39T). Walla !

Hey D, what are you talking about? Are you in the right forum? There ain't no pulleys on a FW-05R. It's a shaft driven car!!!

Ziggy, I do have a gear ratio chart but do not take into account of the rollout. So yes, it sure would be nice if you made one.

Manticore: The 39T Steel Crown gear should be the first must have option on the car. The next will be getting all the option available to lighten the car...hehe

First thing I would get is the steel ring gears. They are a lot stronger and freer than the stock aluminum ones. The next thing is some kind of front bulkhead upgrade since the stock one will break in a crash. 3Racing makes an aluminum one which is cheap at $15. Kawahara also have a front end conversion kit but quite expensive. Other than that, I would also get the graphite shock towers front and rear and universals for at least the front.

A lot of people feel this car is undergeared but the numbers show otherwise. I think it might be a combination between the pipe used (get a Kyosho pipe) and the rear diff not working right. I say this because when I switched to the LSD gears in the rear the car is clearly faster.

I wonder how. The LD3 is a NTC3 copy, which is quite different from the FW-05R

Thanks,

what do you think about the kawahara conversion kit?

any advantage over the orientation on how they position the engine?

LD3 is an evolution of TC3, there are may copy here and there in current car designs. but LD3 does carry some bad things from NTC3 such as fuel tank, exhaust system etc.

05R is just another shaft car but kyosho did that in a lot better way.

I don't know. I only seen a small picture. However, whatever benefit it *might* gives you probably won't justify the price they will charge for it.
