That is why you get brakes on 4 wheels with both front and rear diffs unlike with the front oneway when only rear wheels can do the braking.

On power with a front diff and running front overdrive, it will not be efective because the front diff will slip power to the wheel that looses grip unlike with a oneway front where power will be given to the wheel that has grip.

Off power with front and rear diffs, the rear drive train will drag the front drive train because the rear drive train does not allow the front to roll independently due to the different front and rear tire rollout.
One more question initailD, does this same apply to belt drive cars?

Hi, may I know what starter box u guys r using?

My fren has a fw-05S and bought a universal starter box, but the starter box seems not suitable for the car. Any modification needed?

Basically all you need is a box that can mount the starting wheel sideways.

Default Mourning for a bad decision....

To all FW05 owners,

I want to mourn for a bad decision made.... Me and my buddies bought a nitro TC together weeks ago, he got the FW05, and I got the Serpent 710. Today we both went to the track with these cars for the first time, and after today I really want to dump that Serpent of mine! Out of the box the FW05, using stock everything, beats my Serpent hands down. Even some other friends who are long time Serpent fans, who help my friend set up his car, says the same, and they just would not let go of my friend's car. "Its so easy to drive" they say....

Also, my car end its day after less than one tank of fuel on my hands. My "Serpent fan" friend help set up my car, and after a few tanks on their hands they gave it back to me. I was struggling with the car, all while a rubbing on the wall broke the lower a-arm, lost the drive cup and dogbone. I had to call it a day.

So I shared ride with my friend's FW05. At my hands, I was astonished about its drivability, and after a few laps I began to regret my decision getting a Serpent. Also, the whole day my friend's FW05 burnt almost over 20 tanks from day and night, and all during the day the FW went all over the track, airbourne many times, bump and rub, and being rubbed by other 1/8, and still it keep on going with just minor bruises. I thought if the same happened to my S710, I would have to change many parts already....

Me, being out cars for over a decade, now come back to cars and choose Serpent because of my past experience. However, I think Serpent now is nothing but riding on its past success only.

Jason

I just ran my serpent for the first time today at a club meeting and I was over a second a lap quicker than I have been in the past, my car felt great on the track and i am very happy with it.
I ran the standard kit setup. SP Racer did beat me but that was more due to driver ability than car performance I believe, I wouldn't give up on the car just yet

Imagine how much quicker you would have been with the kyosho....(or,according to recent threads and race reports, the Mugen MTX3....not to mention the r40)..

not really,...

I had a G4 before (sold) it has some issues w/ steering, especially when used in the tracks around here (when there are lots of sandy-dust around, hmm... I just don't really dig G4)

I like FW05R, but hoping if it could be a bit easier on the gears...

smoked Serpent 705, my own Impulse, a RR Evo, Cen CT4R, "G4", and another FW (S) yesterday, and lovin' it...
