Biggest improvement to the car is to fit the Steel Diff Rings, I used the 37T ones which seemed to free up the drivetrain and gave a longer 1st gear, but then the JP motor had the torque to pull it.
my car was set up so at my local track I would use first gear every where and only second on the main straight, but then these were the Rubber days where to much power would spin the tyres. These days with Foam you may want to run a low first gear (I hated Foam IC racing, that is why I quit).

Yeah i couldnt get my hands on some 37's and had to settle for 38T gears.

Hi guys, what you think about running the 38T gears with stock pinions, 21-26 in a medium-small track? that wouldnt be too long 1rst gear?

the engine is an OS CVR18 bump start......and a mielke torque pipe......

quote to renault, i think doesnt exist a conical manifold for the fw...

Hey hey....

Got a FW-05R fully race preped, but i need a new exhaust. I have a 12 JP racing motor in it now with an old beat up exhaust.

Any suggestions of exhaust for these, want to keep it race legal but. I will also need the manifold details.

Cheers in advance.

with a JP Eagle engine i would suggest the Novarossi 51608 that is also Efra legal.
i heard the kyosho pipes works better with Sirio Evo engines.

Do you need a pipe and manifold? I have a few used EFRA 2601 Novarossi pipes.

It depends what fw05r version, anyway they are almost the same, the rr is the evolution of the r, with one way hub, different carbon deck and fron shock tower, all the rest is the same car and the hop ups fit on both cars

FW05RR has a different top deck to stiffen up the fron end to make it better for Foam tyres, but is more of a pain to work on as you have to dismantle the front diff housing to remove the top deck.
I would personaly go for the older Rubber based FW05R spec and then upgrade the rear hubs/upper arms to the V1RRR if you prefer Foam

hey guys,

about to rebuild the FW05RR for the first time since ownership. Got the nova pipe.

Just want to get an idea of diff oil weights recommended.

With my electric i have a solid front, and very soft rear. Is this similar with nitro?

Same with springs and shocks? I run 2 grades harder on the front, and what oil rates for these?

Our track is a big fast 1/8th Nitro bitumen track. if that changes anything.

Any advice appreciated

[QUOTE=Stangas;7325468]

hey Stangas, for a big fast track i would go with front one way, rear 30.000 differential, for shocks try the stock front black and rear gold, or gold all around!!
