G'day im new to RC TECH and I have got my eyes set on a new nitro tourer the FW-05RR chassis kit I just wanted to know the main diffrences between the the kit with the sirio and just the chassis kit.

Does the sirio kit have universals at the front?
Whats the main price diffrence between the two?

either way i go im getting a RR but i just want the best bang for my buck

just went and was looking at a memory card for my camera, and saw I had some pics of my RR on it so I thought I would share them

http://clegg.procooling.com/rc/RR-endofseason/RR2.jpg
http://clegg.procooling.com/rc/RR-endofseason/RR3.jpg

thats after the reciever and PT was removed to move to my 1/12th scale for winter.

The car is very solid, Lots of 3R parts and some Kawahara parts on it. (and some kyosho aftermarket parts). Where other cars break and bend... this car is solid, and just never winces at a tap to the wall in a race

It also had some of the best handle'n of any car at the track ... unfortunately the driver let it down hehe

Also... this thing as so little rolling resistance in the drive line, it spins for like 7 or 8 seconds on its own after I give it a good spin.... thats less resistance than my freaking 1/12th has on the rear axel.

I thought I would let everyone here know that FW-05RR's are now available in the USA. Kyosho America has just received them this morning. Contact your local Kyosho dealer to pick one up.

I'm getting worried, a new car has hit our track and no matter if it's wet or dry no one can catch them, even this Sunday last one was a lap up on the rest of the field and the guy was only shaking it down as it had not turned a wheel before the meeting, and I normally walk over this guy.
Damn MTX4, they should be banned.

Well not even the 710 and MTX3 drivers can stay with the MTX4.
I have been Kyosho since the PureTen spider back in 1997 and laughed at everyone when my V-one R blitzed them with their MTX2's and Impulses, but I am feeling rather sick at not being able to stay with this new beastie. Not even the RRR is that much quicker.
What do I do? Kyosho needs to find an answer quick

I am still trying to find someone that can do a central one-way like they had for the FW04 SuperTen, we can then have :
Overdrive
One-way
Diff or solid front axle
4 wheel braking
But can I get someone to do it?
If only I could read and right Japanese then I could email them direct.

FW04 gearbox shaft is 4mm, then their is a shim thing to increase that 4mm to 8mm, the brake disk holder has an 8mm one-way bearing in it.
Also the FW04 uses the MP7.5/RRR brake disk.
The FW05 gearbox shaft is 5mm.

OK it's project time again
After a brief spell with the RRR, and a closer look at the MTX4, and also noting the lack of power on steering I have compared to those 2 cars I have decided I need to move some weight forward in the car like they have, so here's the plan:
Move battery pack forward to where steering servo is.
Move steering servo back to side of gearbox.
Rotate servo saver horn 180 degree so steering arm goes down side of car.
I have just spent the last hour studying this and it looks very possible but I will have to make up my own battery pack to get the configuration that fits (like pattern below).

I I I

I will let you know if it works, or if it don't

Check cheapbatterypacks.com You can get them to build it for you or simply find a micro pack fore the MicroRS4 from HPI. This is the configueration they use.

Hope you have better luck with it than I did.
I found it to be a quicker car with much better power on steering but in the 4 meetings I ran it I went through 5 rear belts, 1 front belt and 2 side belts, I also had to replace the complete rear bulk head assembly.
Those that use a one-way have had no belt problems, but those who use a diff or spool just eat up the belts.
I have returned to the FW05, not as quick and suffers badly from lack of power on steering but at least it gets to the end of a race in one piece thus getting those championship points.
I'm currently using the 2nd fw05 car to see how to move some of the weight forward like the RRR/710/MTX4, current plan is to move the battery pack to where the steering servo is, then move the servo back to where the unused transponder mount is, then rotate the servo saver 180 and have the steering rod down the side of the car.
I am also thinking of mounting the pipe on the other side of the car to balance the weight better which is possible once the battery pack is moved, just need to find the right manifold/pipe.

Well after 9 mostly good years with Kyosho IC cars it looks as though I am about to switch camps.
I have not been able to get the power on steering I require from my FW05RR, and the brief spell with the RRR proved too costly in replacing fast wearing parts.
I have negotiated a deal with a local UK dealer to run the new TM G4S, and also being friendly with the British 2004 Rubber and 2005 Touring Champion who also drives the G4 I felt I had to take this oppotunity.
I will not be selling my FW05 as I will still run it in the Sports class when I can as that class uses Rubber tyres which I have always felt the car was more at home with.
Bye all
