heh heh heh what a laugh
put the new OS18TZ small block in my FW05 for testing last weekend, and boy does it fly.
Even with a 23/27 pinion gears and 37T diff rings I had ample acceleration and felt I could run a 28T 2nd gear, and that's on a 155ft main straight, best fun I've had in ages.
Only problem is that it sits 1mm higher so a little tricky to get the starter box to reach the flywheel so I had to enlarge the hole.

That's the Kawahara option parts, You'll need to shop around for that now as it was out a few years back.

Well, the RR conversion is cheaper and better to boot.

And any overseas online shop that deals with nitro will likely have the FW. If you live USA, Kyosho America doesn't bring over the FW kit opting instead to focus on the RRR kits. You can get FW parts though, just no kits.

This has since changed. In January, Kyosho America will be releasing RR's with Option parts included.

The O.S. TZ Will fit in and is a very good choice for The FW. I am running a Sirio EVO 2 at the moment. but the O.S is a very good choice. alot of people that race the FW Use that engine or the model bfore the OS Tr
pretty much all that u need to get the car running after the engine is the normal stuff. Radio gear, starter box etc.

This is a question for people who have converted to A R From A RR

Did you notice a huge difference when u upgraded Handling wise and lap times? i have heard it gives you more rear bite.
Am thinking bout upgrading but want to know if it going to be worthwhile.

Default Pull Start for FW-05R/RR

Does anyone know if a side exhaust pull start motor can be fitted to the FW-05R/RR without too much modification?

Yes, you will need to place spacers between the motor mounts and the motor lugs (in effect, lifting the motor) so that the pull-start unit clears the chassis.
Space in plenty between motor and rear bulk head assembly for a pull-start unit.

I found no real difference in rear grip, just the ability to fine tune the camber change angle.
I did find it had more front end on power bite out of corners.
If you do not want the full converion then at least use the RRR front hubs, gives more steering angle.
