ah ok. Must be only the cheaper cars then are sprung by default - its in my manual and the pad springs to use came with the kit. A pen spring also works

Thicker diff oil will increase on power steering and worsen the rear traction problem. Thinner diff is the way to go. If you are using 10k now try 7k. You should also increase your toe-in the rear and perhaps lower your roll center also.

The Excel spreadsheet includes 40, 39, & 37T ring gear charts. Look at the tab in the bottom to switch between different ring gears.

however im still having problems with on power rear traction. the car has sooo much steering so im trying to get the traction to the rear.

i tried a 37shore front tyre and 35 rear, car was doing good but the 35 shore died 13 minutes into the final.

are there any tips you guys can offer ? the fast guys at my track are using 40 shore tyres all round with awesome grip .. my car is very taily on 40 shore tyres.

thanks

hi john! assuming that you are using a front one-way on your car (fwo5rr setup like you said..) and i understand that you are having a very loose rear end already (fishtailing as you have described it..) and considering that you are running on a good traction track like you said.. and have done all these changes to your setup (tried softer rear springs and it got better, less rear droop and more front droop).. putting thinner oil in the rear diff will equate to a looser rear end = sharktailing

Actually a looser rear diff will help the rear from kicking out on low-trac tracks.

NiMo you said you fitted the FW 05S chassis to your FW. Where can i get one? Can you tell me the advantages?

Cheers

It is wider than an R/RR chassis, but it appears to have more flex in it, and using it with the 3racing RR top deck gives chassis flex that gives more grip on a lower grip surface.
