I just use shims between the linkages to get the front toe I want (0 deg in my case). No probs, no need to recheck, pretty much fixed once set.

this car looks really simliar to the rs4 3. is it better with stock vs stock parts? and with option parts which has more potential.

Already been down this road and I think it was agreed that the design was started in the late 80's with the Kyosho FW02, a .10 motor and a Lancia Delta HF shell, but the FW05 is the one that works from the box (unlike others that have to be dialled in).

Default upgrade to front universals ?? droop and rear traction ??

hello

im using the fw-05rr outof the box
just wanted to know if its worth the upgrade to front universals ?

are the 3racing ones any good ??

maybe i should work on my rear traction problems first before i upgrade anything. to get more rear traction do i give less droop in the rear and more in the front ?

thanks
john

if upgrading to universals either front or rear try getting the KYOSHO one they are a lot stronger than 3racing

Awesome!

So today was the first real full race day where nothing went terribly wrong right away

my RR was ballanced, fun, and very nimble. Where everyone else was struggle'n with massive push (a highly technical track, 150ft straight, with an average 20-22 second lap). But the RR was good with off and on power turning, and the ass end had grip in a straight line but would let the car rotate in the corners well.

I am extremely happy with the ride! I didnt win though, I corrected on the straight, and accidentally clipped a rubber bumper thing on the wall... sent the car through the air for about 20ft, and snapped the right front nuckle in half. (but DAMN are the Kyosho's durable!!)

The car's setup for a "good" grip parking lot racing surface, a lil dirty:

Front:
Stock caster
-2Deg camber at 1G
1Deg Toe out
50 weight Shock oil
Silver springs
Stock Droop settings (adjusted for tire wear)
50,000 weight in the front diff
Sway set flat (minimum sway)
26mm 40 Shore Fronts (Spider/Enneti)

Rear:
10k Weight Diff
50 weight shock oil
gold springs
Stock Droop setting
1.5Deg Toe in
Stock sway position.
30mm 35 Shore Rears (Spider/Enneti)

the car also sports a modified brake setup, I used a few coils off my 1/12th scale front suspension in between the brake pads so the pads are essentially sprung and never drag on the disk. gearing in the center is the 2 smaller spurs, the 22T 1st and 26T 2nd with 39T hard ring gears in the diff cases.

the weight bias is like 49F 50R and cross weight is 50/50 I also have the gray clutch shoe in which has made the car MUCH more forgiving on a surface with fair traction, I also have the spring set a bit more loose on the clutch to make it easier to pull a car at slow speeds through a corner.

I take it the pads are not sprung by default? I assumed that was normal.. 8-/

Default very loose rear end problem

hey team

trying to get my fw-05rr setup on my local track but im having a hard time getting rear end traction.

i race on a good traction track, sometimes its just below good.

i tried the car with stock setup and had the rear taily, so i tried softer rear springs and it got better, less rear droop and more front droop now the car is more manageable.

however im still having problems with on power rear traction. the car has sooo much steering so im trying to get the traction to the rear.

i tried a 37shore front tyre and 35 rear, car was doing good but the 35 shore died 13 minutes into the final.

are there any tips you guys can offer ? the fast guys at my track are using 40 shore tyres all round with awesome grip .. my car is very taily on 40 shore tyres.

thanks
John
