Man the first weeeknd of racing was canceled because it was rainy and cold. But the day turned out to be sunny and not too bad...

So itching to get some running in. Hopefully I get my 3R center bulkhead and other goodies in by the end of the coming week so I can run in proper shape next weekend

One thing I am regretting with this Kyosho is it seems Kyosho is killing off the FW cars in the US. the R and RR isnt even on the US page for their offerings. Tower Hobbies has dumped all VOne RRR and FW-05R parts from their listing (infact nearly all non heli Kyosho items have been dropped). Meaning you need to order from HK for parts or Japan... What a pain in the ass. also that info from Kyosho is as easy to access as it is flying a plane into restricted air space in the US...

Makes me almost wish I went with a NTC3 just so I can get shit when I want it...

you can go with the 39 t ring gears and change the pinions (2nd gear) to 27 or 28. How long is the straight at your track? I ran the 39t with the 21/27 pinion combo with the Skyline pipe and had plenty of speed at the end of the 237ft straight.

well my local track that i race at has a straight of about 70ft plus another 20 ft with the sweeper at the end of the track

I see some guys with so much speed that the car is picking up more and more speed down the straight.

Another track that iw ould like to race at soon has a straight of 170ft !!

the 39t should work great another track that i raced at was 175ft and had plenty at the end , you can also get the kawahara center conversion, i installed that and the car had alot of lowend power and it had plenty of speed at the end , i ran the center conversion with 57mm front tyres and 59 mm rear tyres and still had plenty of speed. With the center conversion you have to run a 1 to 2mm split.

i currenyly cut my rear down to 62 and the front to 61mm
however im trying to sort out my rear from spinning out in corners

impretty sure ic ured the problem tonight when i fitted the alumium front blade. i noticed the droop was on 3 front and 4 rear so i made the front 0 and the rear 3

i hope that works, ill know this saturday when i go race again

wats the best place to get 39t ring gears from ?

Man you are lucky to have had such a wide choice.
The UK importer is still selling the V-one R, and in the pull-start range the V-one S2 and Alpha 3 (with lousy spares support).
FW05 / V1RRR cars and parts in the UK have all been sourced from Japan or HK by privateer racers.

I have been running an FW05S with RR conversion and a GS15R motor at the last 2 club meetings running with the more powerful rubber shod .12 cars, both times I've qualified 2nd and finished 2nd in the finals.
Just goes to show that this car does not need a high powered motor to get the results.
Only major change in the car is the fitment of the Machined 37T diff rings, standard kit supplied gears are used.
