So when it did come apart this afternoon during practice, my friend at the track gave me a Skyline V12 to try. Boy was it an eye opener! I had probably 15-20% more top end with this pipe. I thought my car was fast enough at the straight (Novarossi NS3) and now it's absolutly ballistic! And it's not just the top end, the low end had more power as well! I was surprised that a pipe could make that much of a difference.

By the way, the car was working real good too. I had so much steering I had to turn it down and add toe-in in the rear--something I almost never did with the FW05R.
The Skyline pipe is awesome! Isn't! By the way Jeffrey i tested the car today with the rear gold springs and it worked great !! thanks again for getting them for me!! Thanks!

Hey Nimo,

How many degree of caster can you get out from that bulk head, looking at the picture it seem it is only 4 deg max?? Correct me if I'm wrong, as also I might consider getting the FW05RR too.

Thanks,

aloha wayne. the skyline pipe is that good. people have been telling me to try it and i thought why change when it ain't broke. well am i glad i tried. i am not sponsored by anyone so you know this is no hype. i have not tried the rd turbo 2 so can't comment but their first version was one of the reason why people thought this car is undergeared.

the 1 and 2 degree front RRR wheel hub adds caster. i have them but have not tried them yet as the car is running so good as it is.

What! And so adamant about the original Kyosho pipe before? Your car is pretty good Jeff.

I had the Turbo 2 pipe for this car and I can tell you that the Skyline pipe is better. The new trend in pipes is taking the shape of the VR12 line from Skyline.

Just ordered the delrin pivot ball screws and the Kyosho clutch adjustment tool from RC Mushroom.

the dude who owned the car before me used red locktite/threadlock on the pinions!!! they are almost impossible to remove. I have heated the entire assy to 600F already and tried to break them loose and they wont budge...
