NiMo, are you sure the limit for 200mm is 1750? I'm sure I saw somewhere that it says 1700gms. EFRA is 1750 gms.

You did VERY well at the AMCC Nationals, especially if you were 158 gms heavier than the champ.

Ah OK, I never look at the rubber rules ...

Now that you've licked rubber, we're glad you're joining where the real boys are ... in the foams!

Default weight

the efra weight is 1715 with transponder...
my fw comes in at 1835gm's...heavy kyosho....i found the titanium pivot balls bend too easily.....u have to use the alumin front shocker mount as the stock plastic moves...
making a 4mm carbon radio tray to stop chassis flex...the front blue drive shaft bends...
i use a jp..it flies....
23, 28....45 50...39 teeth gears..
waiting for the 37 ring gears..this will hoot.

Yup, I'm the "slow&steady" one at AMCC

No, I don't plan to do the nats this year because I missed the first 3 rounds before they even started!

Hopefully next year ... depends on work schedule.

The 37t bevel gears are still lower geared than the centre conversion.

Default centre conversion

tried both and i reckon with the 37 nt ring gears..
the car will be fast..im using the kyo instead of the kawahharra..ive both.

the kawaharra is very weak in the front end.. one touch and all over,,
ive made some imm and 2mm carbon fibre spaces to stop the flex..it works but i still think the kyo is better than the kawa car..
my personal opinion

13-37 is 2.85:1, 17- 45 is about 2.65:1. The only problem I've encountered with the Kawahara centre conversion is that I'm overgeared on all but the larger tracks.

I'm currently rebuilding my car and I doubled up the front shock towers. I'm using the stock plastic bulkhead brace since I bent the 3Racing one. Hopefully the 4mm shock tower will make it stiff enough.

I think another steering post screwed behind the engine and an upper deck that wraps around the engine much like the way the front of the upper deck wraps around the the fuel tank would help.

Are you talking about the Kawahara front conversion? I tried it but broke it twice!

If you make a small bar that fits across the back of the original pivot pins like the kawahara and than extend the pivot pins to locate in the bar it will be more rigid. I'll try and put something together

Cheers

I dont seem to have this problem. In fact I am still using the 21/26 pinions and sometimes the 22/27. I have the JP FX and so have plenty of low power. I havent been at a race meeting with other FW's so cant compare the speed or accel but know i can outdrag all the 710's so cant be doing much wrong

I have only done one! I have entered Ahby and Tibshelf though. I have concentrated on the Ashby Summer Series and currently lead the Open class. No big deal as here are only 6 in it!! LOL...

Ziggy ... maybe that's what I'll do too next year. I mean, just join each of the national races as they come rather than trying to catch each and every one. I'll never make it all anyways.

Well done, you must be a fast driver then, or at least faster than me! Here at AMCC there seems to be only 4 open drivers in the summer and I'm last.

In an effort to increase interest in the foam class, AMCC has added a foam touring class. We've only done one race with this so time will tell if this works. Do you come down to AMCC once in a while?
