If you are going from a V-one to an FW05, you will never want to run the V-one again (I sold mine)

When the motor is very new it would be chucking out unburnt fuel from the pipe, this is normal and will not clear until 3 or 4 tanks have passed through the motor.
also you shouldn't be using half throttle with a new motor, is should coast round on a little more than tick over until it frees up (you will know when this happens).
Once the motor frees, that unburnt fuel will change to loads of blue smoke, then you can start moving forwards.

That article that has the FW05R coming out tops has it shown with a Protoform MG shell, well I got one and tried it today and it was great, the front turns in like an Alfa, but the rear grips like a Dodge 2.1, I have even gone to the very soft Spider Mk2 springs, (Green front, Yellow rear) the car now runs the kerbs and doesn't cook the tyres, and I have more front end grip all through the corner (in, through and out).

If you run a Touring shell then get the MG, you wont regret it.

what shock positions are you using Nigel?

I've been using that combination for a while now, Black (kit) rears and yellow fronts work well too...

Not sure, they are an old item from 1997, came as a pack of 3 pairs, Orange / Green / Yellow.

They worked today though, qualified 4th from 62 entries, overdrove the car in the main final though, finished 6th.

Good days racing today apart from the rain! The final was dry though.

I broke the Kawahara front conversion again. Has anybody had any trouble with these? They seem very fragile. I will be sticking with the kit setup from now on.

The only thing that could keep up was an MTX-3 prospec + with a Calsen NSR.

Off on hols tomorrow without the car

Do not put too much pressure on the countersunk screws that fix the bracket. This stresses the plastic and then a small hit is enough to snap it. Use threadlock on the nut and just nip it up.
